One Week {Under Construction}

Monday [Juliette]

Juliette 

       I'm in the car, with Preston, driving up to the cabin that Maci's parents owned. I don't know why I am doing this to myself. I haven't seen Ashton in four years and I am nervous. I remember the conversation we had right after we had sex, like it was yesterday. I gave him my virginity and expressed my feelings for him and he just left.

Four years Ago....

Oh god. I just had sex with Ashton and he has a girlfriend. I'm the other woman now. Shit. I need to know what he is thinking. 

"How do you feel?" I ask. I don't know why I am asking him how he feels. I am the one who just gave him my virginity. 

"Honestly?" he says. 

"Of course." 

"I think we made a mistake, Jules." 

"A mistake?" 

"Jules, I am with Sara." 

"No shit. I know who your girlfriend is. Do you not realize that I am in love with you?" 

"You think you love me, Jules." 

"Don't tell me how I feel, Ashton. You know perfectly well that we have something and that the only reason that you are with Sara is because of your father. Stop being a fucking coward and stand up to him!" I yell while holding back my tears. I know that this isn't going to end with happily ever after. This is going to end with heartbreak and disappointment. 

He lifts his head and looks me right in the eye and says, " You know that I can''t do that, Jules." 

"Then what are you saying?"

He stands up and pull his jeans on and says," What we had in this room, is all that we are ever going to have. Jules, your going to find someone one day that is going to put you first. You deserve to be the first choice, not the second or even third." 

"I don't understand, Ashton." 

"I am saying that I am not choosing you."

The sound of Preston's voice calling my name pulls me out of my worst memory.

"Jules?" 

"Yeah?"
