Unspoken Feelings [Tom Hiddleston X Reader]

Part VII

"Run away with me?" Tom repeated, holding your face between his hands "Come with me. Leave Nick and we'll start all over again."

This crushed your heart. You've been waiting for him to say those words but it felt so wrong and it hurts. Your heart want to stay with him but your mind tells you to push him and that this is wrong. How can he say that? How can he just say to leave Nick? How can he just come back in your life and control it?

"Tom, you're being selfish." You whisper.

"[Y/N] this is what you want right?" He asked feeling a bit confused.

"Yes but that was years ago. Tom, you're just sad. Maybe you don't mean this..."

"No, I do mean it." He said cutting you of "I do and I love you."

Caressing his face "I.. I can't leave him. Nick is all I have and I'm marrying him. Tom you have to understand."

"No. [Y/N] you have to understand that you are just making excuses. You know deep inside, you still love me. All this unspoken feelings we have for each other is messing our lives."

"I tried to tell you but you rejected me." You fought back "So many times, I tried to tell and show you but you just can't see me more than just a friend. A friend who is always there for you!"

"Because I'm scared!" His voice was trembling and he was losing control of his pitch. Anger? Sadness? He couldn't explain it "I think, I knew it but I don't want to believe that you really love me because I'm afraid that I'll wake up one day and it's just me. That you were just being nice to me."

There was a long silence. You two stayed on the floor looking at each other. Both broken and fragile. Love should be something wonderful right? Something that can make you happy? But why it hurts so bad that even breathing isn't easy.

"I can't just leave Nick." You said as tears started to fall in your cheeks "He is a good man and he loves me and I love him too. We will start a family. He doesn't deserve to be hurt."

"So you'll sacrifice your own happiness?" Tom asked.

"Tom we were okay. We were happy. I am happy with him then you came."

"[Y/N] you are the one who is being selfish."

"I didn't ask you to go back in my life." You know that this will hurt him but this talk needs to stop "maybe I'm being selfish because finally I can be happy. Finally I'm living the life I've wanted all along."

"No, you are just saying that." Tom kneeled in front of you, holding your hands.

Pulling your hands away "No! You! You are just saying that. Tom if you're not happy don't pull me down with you." With that said you stood up, with a broken heart. You don't want to say it but once again "Goodbye, Tom."
