IGNORE THE COVER! HINATA IS NOT AND I REPEAT NOT A DUDE IN THIS STORY!
18-year-old Hinata lives in a family of blacksmiths, when she was young her mother taught her to forge all sorts of things ranging from swords to kunai. On the day of her mothe...
Today was the day. I was 4 o'clock in the morning and Hinata was standing in front of the village gates wearing three layers of clothing: a long sleeved black undershirt, a soft purple turtleneck, and a blue jacket with a purple scarf. So many clothes in the middle of summer! Right now Hinata was on her way to visit Toneri and hopefully get her hands on some moonstones. In her hands she was holding a rolled-up scroll with a red outline Tenten let her that contained twenty metal carts along with a small vial of her blood to help her unseal and reseal them. Digging need your pocket she pulled out the map Neji gave her and briefly scanned it before she put it back and walked through the gates. And with that, she was gone.

'Three countries' she said in her head while she looked back at the map, 'Two more to go'
The journey was long and hot especially with all the layers she had on but she was soon glad the Neji insisted she wears layers as the temperature dropped dramatically low. She could only hope that she would get there soon so she could go somewhere nice and warm. Closer and closer she drew until the gates of the Moon Village were in her sight. Beaming with joy she broke out into a full sprint and slowed down only when she was face to face with a man who looked about her age with dark brown hair that could easily be mistaken for black and green eyes. He wore a long black coat, a great scarf that covered his mouth, and a headband tied around his upper arm showcasing a tiny star and a moon right behind it.
Barely even sparing her a glance he went straight to the point.
"What is your business here?"
His eyes were so critical that she felt like curling up so much until she disappeared. It wasn't like she could start blabbering off about how she was there to get twenty carts of moonstones. But remembering her job she straightened her back, took a deep breath, and...
Ran away.
She ran as fast her legs would go and when she was finally sure that she was alone she sighed and sat down with her back against a tree's trunk. In her relaxed state, her mind replayed the events of what just happened...and replayed, and replayed, and replayed. It was almost as if it was trying to send her some sort of message, a very and extremely important mess-oh.
Finally registering the message she placed her head in her lap in defeat.
A muffled and depressed, "Whhhhyyyy?!" came from her lips.
Leaning sideways and away from the tree she fell into the snow and rolled around in it trying to think of something to do. Finally stopping her rolling fit, she realized that this all was pointless. Like she could actually go up to that scary looking guy and expect to be let in to his home village. She might as well turn around and head home. Sure they would be upset but they could get someone else to do this job for he-
SPALT!
Right there. In that exact moment. A giant heap of snow fell onto her, covering her face and torso, and it seemed to originate from the tree she was just leaning on.
With the snow in her face, she realized something. Sitting straight up from her snow coffin, she put her hand to get her and determinedly shout-whispered, "Henge no Jutsu" (Just transformation jutsu) as she became her genderbent self. Shaking the remaining snow and water droplets from her hair, she stood up and looked at her reflection in a nearby puddle.
"Good"
Hoisting the scroll back into her shoulder she set off for the Moon Village again.
Standing face to face with the boy she now saw that in her current form she was about an inch taller than him and that gave her more confidence than before. Looking him straight in the eye she spoke.
"I'm Hin Hyuuga and I'm here to see Toneri Ōtsutsuki,"
The boy's eyes widened at the name but went back to normal as he raised a questioning eyebrow at her. Not missing a beat she added a quick explanation to her previous sentence as she started to sweat under pressure.
"He's an old friend of mind and I was hoping-"
A figure suddenly appeared out of the snow and placed a pale hand on the guard's shoulder as he interrupted Hinata.
"I got this Dóshi"
The boy looked at him confused but nodded anyway and left the two alone.
The man looked back at Hinata and smiled.
"It's good to see you again Hinata."
