Dear Jonny,
You're a great guy and an awesome best friend. You're always there when I'm in need, and you help me through things I never thought I could. You act truly invincible, always making sure to be confident and happy. Despite that, I know you're hiding your troubles under the surface. I wish you would talk to me more about them, tell me what's wrong. But you won't let anyone enter there. It's for your mind only. Trust me, not everyone's happy all the time. Things like that just don't exist. We all have troubles we face every day and I know things are hard, but you should open up to me. I want to help you like you help me. I want to be your hero too, because you're mine.
You're silly and goofy 100% of the time I'm with you. That's just who you are. You'll stop at nothing to make sure I'm smiling and happy, and when I'm with you, that's exactly how I feel. I love you so much, Jonny. You're my best friend.
My favorite thing about you has to be how confident you are about your scar. You used to tell people that you got attacked by a tiger, which I find absolutely hilarious. But really, you had heart surgery. Now, you don't hide the truth. You show it off. All the time, I see your shirt open, just so you can see the scar poke out through the top. But you don't cover it up, never. You show it off to the world. "My battle scar," you call it. And that's exactly what it is. I love how you're not ashamed of it, not at all. You wear it proudly, like an honorable medal, and you're not afraid to be yourself. Sometimes we even joke about it, saying how it's your chick magnet. Honestly, I really think it attracts women.
I remember the first day you let me touch your scar. It travled from your chest and made its way down to who knows where. I felt honored at that moment, really. You let me touch your scar, your most prized possession, your battle scar. It was a moment I'll never forget. You've let me touch it other times too, and I'll never forget how honored I feel.
Thank you for being the best friend I could ever ask for. And thanks for sticking by me. I know I'm pretty stubborn and can at times be difficult to put up with, but I love you more than anything. I hope we're best friends forever. You're my hero.
Love, Ashley
