Don't wait up ~ Chapter 1 ~

Chapter 1

The wind swirled around me casting a cool breeze against my unprotected skin. The sun was now shining brightly as it made it way slowly across the sky. My time in my small haven was coming to a close and I knew soon I'd need to return to the personal hell of my life.

Many people have told me that my life can't be that bad and that there is always an up, but I'm telling you all now, they lied. Nothing got better, in my opinion it continues to get worse eeveryday.

Oh and just So you know my name is Serenity-may Davies though teachers call me serenimay and my friends Luce and James calls me senity I am 16 years old and well as many have said before I am a depressed loner that nobody lives or could ever want. Well Yup that's me for ya in a short. Why don't we just say I haven't got the best of lives and I'm in a very complex position.

With the introductions over with I hop down from the tree I was seated in and pick up my school bag and slide on my hoodie bringing my long raven black hair into my face and covering it with the coven of my hood. Once I'm settled I make my way out of the forest to the back of my house and walk the 10 minute journey to school.

Just like everyday for the past 16 years of my life i'm greeted with silence and empty spaces where, if I was a normal teen, my friends would fill. The walk was quiet occasionally I would get comments from some of the students at my school as they drove by with their flashy cars.

When I did finally get to school it was half an hour before first lesson was due to begin so like everyday I walked round the back if the school and sat under the comforting shade of the old tree with my knees to my chest and my head buried within.

Obviously the little peace I wanted before this day began had to be ruined by the one and only Chelsea Walsh aka the grade A bitch of the school and ms perfect according to all teachers.

"Well look at that is the little loner gonna cry cause she has no friends or anyone to care about her" she said towering over me with her minions behind as usual cheering her on.

And just like every time I get a hurtful

Comment I ignore it and say nothing.

"Aww is the loser not gonna say anything? What are you a mute? Well we already know that your emo so I won't be surprised if you cut as well " she sneered.

Silence.

"Come on girls she's not worth our time" with that her and her little league of followers trotting behind her.

Shifting my legs apart with my elbow on each knee I looked down at the ground letting my fringe cover more of my face hiding me from the rest of the world.

After Sitting there for a while I had the feeling I was being stared at and lifted my head looking right into the eyes of Damian Watson, the most feared guy in school but also quite easily in my eyes the hottest. He offered me a small smile before turning back to his best friend that started talking to him.

After that I decided to make my way to my first period class early as usual. As I walked through the class door the teacher, Ms green smiled warmly at me as I moved pass her desk to the back corner if the room beside the window.

Dyla Thompson was the only other person in the class but then again she was the school nerd what else could you expect.

Slowly other students filed in making sure to avoid the seats around my area of the class. When the bell had rung Damian and his best friend Tyson Matters strolled in and headed straight for the back where I was seated Tyson next to me and Damian front seated so his body was turned sideways on the chair facing me and Tyson. Both guys turned to me and nodded in greeting in which I returned before facing the window once again.

The register was called and the lesson began.

" Serenimay hood off and Damian face forward in your seat" Ms green called out making most heads turn our way. Serenimay was the name I had put on my information in the 'prefer to be called' section. If you hadn't realised its a mix of serenity-may, my name.

Sighing I complied bringing my hood down letting my long scene styled fringe cover my right eye and half my face. My hair had a couple of light and dark shades of red in it but not much. Some people looked kind of surprised to see me with my hood off seeing as I never have my hood down in school.

"Good now back to the lesson" chirped Ms green

The rest I the school day was pretty much the same but straight after first period I put my hood straight back up. Damian and Tyson exchanged a few words with my either a hi or bye it was something, then again they never where mean to me in the pass but they didn't defend me either way. But nothing out of the ordinary. The same comments, the same teasing, the same loneliness.

I was slightly relieved when school ended but at the same time slightly scared. If I got home and THEY were there it wouldn't end well.

You see I 'live' with my 'parents' and lets just say that I hate them. They are alcoholics and druggies and when father is angry as well as drunk it doesn't turn out well on my part. It wasn't all the time this happens though seventy percent of the time they weren't even home they spent the nights at friends houses for all I knew most nights they could be passed out in a ditch. Lovely parents don't ya think.

Luckily when I got home it was as deserted as when I left early this morning. After changing out of my school clothes into black jean shorts a batman crop top and a black hoody with all my piercings in I decided to see lucinda and James my next door neighbours and the only people I trust.

Walking over to their house I walk straight in and to their living room sitting down on the chair beside lucinda.

"Hey senity" Luce said turning to face me smiling

"Hey Luce where's Jamie" I ask and do you know u can talk I just not to anyone but Luce and James.

"Kitchen getting making me a sammitch" she grins.

"And here it is" James says coming through the door handing her the plate "Oi get out my seat!"

I just smile innocently " You left it Unattended so my butt decided to occupy the EMTY space and now I'm unable to move"

"Child I will sit in you" he replied deadpanned but the amusement was clear in his eyes.

"No you won't you love me as a sister and want to protect me from any harm" I reply in my baby voice.

He just raises an eyebrow moving towards me quickly before sitting on top of me.

"Jay move your fat butt off me now!" I yell making me laugh and sprawl out all over me. "I can't breathe. Heart. Failing. Vision. Blurring. Me. Dyeing. " I gasp out before pretending to pass out.

"Geez when did you get so over dramatic" he asked getting off of me.

"Only when it's needed"

"Whatever. Okay before i was so rudely interrupted iwaki asking my lovely wife something. How long is your brother coming to stay with us?" James asked Luce

"Only for about two months" Luce replied.

"Your brother is coming to stay?" I asked surprised by this information.

"Yup he just turned 17 about two months ago do he's in your year maybe you know each other I don't know." she said unaffected by my surprise.

"Doubt it all the people at my school hate me there is about three people who are relatively nice to me but does that mean I'm going to have to knock before I come in?" I ask I practically live here but those nights when THEY are home this is the first place I come to clean up and talk.

"No but be careful not to be mistaken as a robber so just have a key with you when you do come"

"Will do so when is he coming oh also what's his name?"

"H is coming down tomorrow and his name is Damian Watson"
