Bill is 19
Mabel is 17

Bill (human) has been working with Dipper for a while. Bill and Mabel have only said a few words to each other here and there. They don't know each other very well.

Above is the scene from hot rod I refer to later in the episode. It is advised that you watch it to better understand the chapter if you have not seen the movie. You really should watch it. The movie is hilarious.

Mabel awoke to the droning sound of her phone furiously vibrating on her metal nightstand. She reached over to her phone and saw that Bill was calling. She found this odd but she picked it up anyways.

"Bill? It's 2 in the morning." She said, glaring at the light her phone was putting off. She could hear muffled sobs coming from the other line. "Bill, are you okay?" She asked, her voice growing with concern. "Shooting Star, I need your help. I... I didn't know who else to call. Dipper wouldn't pick up, and..." Bill was running his words together, and they poured from his mouth like a waterfall.

"Okay, Bill, calm down. Just tell me where you are." Mabel said. "I... I'm in jail." He replied. Mabel didn't hesitate. "I'll be right there." Mabel said and quickly hung up the phone. She grabbed her shoes and purse and ran out of the door.

She slipped on her sandals and drove straight to the County Jail. When she got there, Bill was sitting on the bench of a holding cell. She quickly went through the detector and ran up to the bars of the cell. "Hey, Bill." She said. He ran to the bars, gripping them tightly. The guard stepped up behind her. "So you're the one that this crybaby belongs to." He said, laughing. "How much?" Mabel replied, pulling her wallet from her purse. "One Grand." The man said. Mabel pulled out her Credit Card and Drivers license. The man examined them and handed them back.

"No can do. You are a minor. You need to be 18 or older to take someone out of jail." He said. Mabel sighed and slumped down into one of the benches by the cell. She didn't know what to do or who to call. She figured she would call Wendy, since Soos was out of town with Melanie and Dipper's phone was broke. Mabel dialed and waited. Wendy picked up as it was just about to go to voicemail. She sounded really tired, but it was 3 in the morning. Who wasn't tired? Wendy agreed to come pick them up.

Bill figured this was a good time to get to know Mabel. I mean, sure. You can tell a lot about someone by their dreams, but it's easier when you hear it from them. "So, wanna play a game while we wait?" Bill asked. Mabel groggily nodded. "Alright, how about we each take turns asking each other questions, and we have to answer truthfully." Bill said. Mabel sat up, because she loved this game.

Bill went first. "So, what's your favorite color?" Bill asked. Mabel chuckled. "Well I can't choose just one! They are all so great in their own way." She replied smiling. Bill could tell she meant it, so he let her go without giving a real answer.

Mabel was excited it was her turn. "What's your favorite food?" She asked. Bill smiled. "Well not Doritos, that's for sure." He replied. They shared a laugh, and the game continued on. Bill and Mabel didn't notice, but the questions slowly got more personal.

"How many times have you been in a hospital? Your birth doesn't count." Bill questioned. "3. Once when I broke my leg, once when a screwdriver was stuck in my braces, and once when my blood sugar was too high. Turns out Mabel juice is pure fuel for a reason." She replied. Bill chuckled. It was Mabel's turn. There was a question she was dying to ask him, but it might have been a little too personal. She tried to choke it down, but the words forced themselves up.

"Bill, have you ever been in love?" Mabel asked. The words just came out before she could stop them, but now that they were out, she wanted to know the answer. Bill blushed. "I uhh..." he began, but then Wendy walked through the door. Mabel ran up and gave a very sleepy Wendy a hug. The cop followed shortly after Wendy. "Alright, I'm guessing you're here for the blonde." He said. Wendy nodded and pulled out her ID. Mabel gave Wendy her money to use, and the cop let him out.

The three of them exited the police station. Wendy got into her friend's van and drove off, leaving only Mabel, Bill and the rickety old golf cart. Mabel climbed in the drivers side and Bill climbed in the passengers. They pulled out of the parking lot and started off towards the mystery shack.

"Hey Bill, couldn't you have just transported out of the cell?" Mabel asked. "Ever since I was reborn, or whatever you want to call it, into this human form, my powers have been limited." Bill replied. "Something about metal... I don't know. It's weird." He replied.

They rode in silence for a while until they reached the woods. All around them were signs of large arrows saying "Mystery Shack" and pointing towards the shack. Bill finally decided to break the silence. "So, you wanna continue our game? You can start." He said.

"Well then, I guess my question is are you going to answer my question about being in love?" She replied. Bill felt his face heat up. "No, I'm not. My turn." He said quickly, trying to change the subject. "Have you ever been so angry that you punch-danced your rage out? You know, like that scene in Hot Rod." Bill questioned. Mabel just went into a hysteria of laughter. "No, I don't believe I have."

"Oh come on, are you lying?" Bill asked. "No, I have never punch danced. But since you just asked two questions, I get to ask two as well." Mabel said. "Why are you avoiding my question, for one, and I'll just ask my old question again. Have you ever been in love?"

Bill knew there was no more hiding it. "I guess I was just avoiding your question because I was afraid of how you might react." He said. "Why would you be afraid of my reaction?" Mabel inquired, confused.

"Because of my answer to the second question."

"You see Mabel, I have been in love before. Once. And I kind of still am." Bill replied. He looked down at the floorboard. Mabel looked over at him. "Well hey, that's okay. Does she know how you feel?"

"No, I don't think so" Bill said. "Well then lets go tell her! I promise you will feel so much better once you do." Mabel replied. "Well, the thing is, it's kind of complicated. You see, I do business with her brother. He is really protective of her, and I don't think he would approve of us going out."

"Well I'll tell you what. I'll talk to this guy, and then I promise he will let you go out with this girl. She seems pretty special." Mabel replied. "Okay, that sound good. I know the directions to her house."

Bill lead Mabel to the girl's house. He covered her eyes and told her there were things there that she shouldn't see. Mabel felt Bill guiding her up some stairs. "Sorry, shooting star. They are very private about their home." Bill said. "No, I get it. It's totally understandable."

Bill escorted her to a room and closed the door. "Okay, you can open your eyes now." He said, pulling back his hands. "Bill, all you did was take me back home." She said.

"Exactly."

Mabel gasped, finally realizing what Bill was saying. Bill stepped closer to her. "Now I believe it is my turn to ask a question." He said, taking her hands gently in his. "Have you ever kissed a demon?"

As a reply, Mabel smacked her lips on his. She brought up her hands, one on his back and one running through his hair. Bill wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. When they parted, Mabel looked up into his deep blue eyes. "Does that answer your question?" She asked.

"Hmm, I don't know. I might have to test it again, just to make sure you're not lying." Bill replied. Bill grabbed her face and kissed her ruggedly. "Yep, I think you were telling the truth." He said, and they both laughed.

"Well now it's my turn to ask a question. Why were you in jail?" Mabel asked him. "Well I kind of set it up. That officer wasn't really a cop. I payed him to pretend to be one and lock me up in a holding cell. Wendy was in on it too." Bill replied.

"Bill, that is just the sweetest thing." Mabel said, grabbing Bill gently and hugging him. Bill hugged her back. "Anything for you, my star."
