I finally make it to the diner, hit with the warm temperature, much different from the cold winds outside. The familiar sound of a bell rings once I open the doors, sounds of dishes being carried and slight chatter soon being all I could hear.

The people working smile at me, some saying "see you tomorrow" as I take a seat on the counter. I then remember it's Sunday, meaning I had to return here for work tomorrow. Yay.

It doesn't take long until I make my my mind up on what I want. I don't even use the menu provided, I've worked here long enough to know the food items and prices of 89% of it all.

Not long later, a familiar face walks to me to take my order. This 'familiar' face being Abby, probably the only one i decently like that works here.

"Oh hello there Joseph" she says with a smile.
" hello there, Abigail" I jokingly say in return.
I give her my order of 2 pancakes with the side of sausage because when isn't it an appropriate time for pancakes?

She simply smiles in return and walks away.
I sigh, anxiety kicking in when I remember the main reason I've came here. Daniel.

I've truly missed him. And I am not lying.
We may have been young at that time, but the more I've aged the more I've realized he is the one, even though it's been seven years.
Something inside me is telling me he isn't going to be here, and I'm feeling this fear for no reason but something else just knows he's here. He's always here.

I pull into the small parking lot of the diner.
I pull the key out of my car, wanting to be surrounded by the warmth inside the diner.

I step out of the car, walking quickly to the diner. ding. The bell rings when I enter the small area, telling workers a customer is here.

There are only four people in the diner, one elder couple and two younger men.
I take my seat on the counter, the red bar seats feeling familiar when I sit down.

Not long, almost immediately a woman appears next to me, asking for my order.
I give the answer of "just a large white milk and an omelet" she writes down the order on a small notepad, smiles, and walks back to the kitchen.

" just a large white milk and an omelet "
An extremely familiar and comforting voice comes from a brown haired boy right next to me. I slightly glance over at him, not wanting to look weird or awkward. Sure enough, it's Daniel. My green eyed boy.

" Daniel " I say, my voice sounding muffled and quiet. The man turns his head, the curly hair on his head reassuring all my thoughts.
" Joey "he smiles, a lot less awkward than me. He's always been that way, confident.
"h- hey" I stutter nervously.

"hey" he responds.
we both smile, and there is a silence between us. A good silence though, it is not awkward.
"i I- apologize for lea-" I mumble, breaking the silence after a while. "its alright. I understand" he says, relief filling my body.
" who called you? i heard what they said why was there police there??" He said, sounding generally worried. I smiled at the fact that he cared and remembered, and told him my story from the past seven years since I left.

" wow, what a douche. sorry "

The waitress returns with two plates in either hands, giving us our food and drinks.
Daniel and I continue talking for more what seems like years. But I'm fine with that.
The sun is setting, and the light outside is dim when we are done talking and catching up.

Our plates are empty, and we both stand up from the red bar seats.

We stare at each other, this time a slightly awkward silence between us. That is until Daniel slightly caresses my cheek, kissing my lips. Being the only one remaining in the diner, he shows passion and pure love into the kiss.

Once we both pull away, we smile uncontrollably.

"Joey here" he says handing me a unused napkin, his number written in the middle.
"Thank you Daniel, I missed you so fucking much you don't understa-" I'm cut off with another kiss.

I did it,
I found my green eyed boy.
And he found his.
