seven years later
joeys pov.
I sway my feet as i sit in the small, red booth at the diner. The smells of fresh cooked breakfasts fill my nose, as each waiter and waitress gave people their orders.
I sat waiting, waiting for my omelet.
I always get omlets here, I don't know why. I just feel like I have to.
I feel nostalgic each time I even walk into this diner.
I get brought back to reality when I hear the vibrating of my phone.
incoming call from - babe
"hey alex" I say trying to sound happy, happy that I've received the call.
"Hey babe, could I borrow like twenty bucks?" I smirked. I knew thats what he would ask.
He's always asking for favors or cash.
I return my smile to my face.
you love him joey. hes amazing.
I said to myself, knowing each word is a lie. Im lying to myself.
"Joey? Joeyyy?" Alex says over the phone, snapping me back.
"Yea, yea sorry twenty bucks"
I said, looking around the diner, seeing a blonde women carrying a tray of my order.
"Alright babe i gotta go. love you."
I hated having to say those words.
I knew someone else deserve the two words that I'm wasting on Alex.
"Here you go", the waitress said in a bubbly tone. She followed with my glass of ice water, smiling l as she walked away.
I stare at my food, the nostalgic feeling soon returning.
why is this so familiar?
