Jane Austen tried to show this situations as realistic as possible and that is the reason why the characters part so many times and find their ways back to each other. Even as Mr Darcy and Mr Binley leave for London, hope hasn't faded, yet. The hope for the love between Jane Bennet and Charles Binley seems as logically as the story of Romeo and Juliet, but proud Mr Darcy insits that Jane Bennet does not truely love him, so he parts them without the knowing of her attitude against everyone and her true love for Mr Binley.
Even as their Cousin arrives and asks for Eliza's hand, she stubbornly goes her own way and refuses. This book is like a lovely Game of Thrones, without blood, sex and war, but intrigues does also matter a lot.
