Evaline's POV

I grabbed the bottle and chucked it across the room. No way in hell would I wear that. I stumble towards th bathroom door of my room, blind with rage. I curse to myself when my foot hits the dresser. I step to the side and trip over my feet. I put out a hand to brace for the fall when someone takes it, catching me before I fall. I'm glad I still wear the gloves from last night.

"Having trouble?" I'm set on my feet and I see one emerald and one blue eye staring at me. I realize it's Hedri. His hair is wet like he just got out of he shower. He's surprisingly warm too... He wears a gold chain around his neck, most likely the same gold as my ring. His outfit is made of a fine silver silk jacket and black jeans.

"Are you not like them?" I ask. I now realize that Laris never wore a ring. At least not one made of that gold... He flinches a bit and removes the hand he had on my shoulder. I hadn't even noticed.  He doesn't speak as he pushes me into the bathroom door. I look around the bathroom to see a few maids. They stare at me with shock. I awkwardly wave at them. I turn around to see if Hedri is here, but he's gone.

Hedris POV

I push her into the room, fuming with rage. I then turn and run out of the room. Let the maids deal with that brat. I stop in the middle of the hallway. Why was I mad at her? Maybe because she has more than I ever will. She actually has powers, unlike me. Fathers voice snaps me out of my trance.

"Did you give her the plan?" He barks from down the hall.

"No... I just gave her to the maids." I answer. He gives me a disapproving glare and then sighs.

"When will you learn?" He sighs. I bristle. I'm not the only idiotic one in the family. I almost sat it aloud. But when Mailki appears at my side I relax. He bows deeply to both of us.

"Good morning Surpreme, Prince Hedri," he says. "Hello advisor Mailki. I couldn't help but smile as I spoke. Even with father around I couldn't resist him. Fathers face his unreadable as he looks between the two of us. He finally pulls a ring out of his pocket. He hands it to me and walks away. I wish I didn't have to use this today.

Mailki's POV

I watch Senpai take the ring, confused. It was gold with black and white gems. Senpai sighs and looks at me, mischief in his eyes.

"You never gave me my good morning kiss!" Senpai whines, lightly punching my shoulder. I blush, smiling. I take Senpais hands and pull him close. I'm taller than Senpai by two inches. I lean down and kiss his lips. They're soft and warm. Senpai pulls back sooner than I'd like. He gives me a hug and walks off. I disappear from view, folding the light over me until I'm just a small shimmer of a ghost.

I walk into the Senpai stealers room, careful to be quiet. I realize she's in the bathroom, most likely getting ready for the day. I sit on her bed and wait, noticing the shattered glass on the bed and blood stain on the wall. I guess she didn't like my present

A couple minutes pass and she walks out of the room. Her hair is gleaming, there's not a hint of dirt on her scrubby little face. She looks like us. And that wretched ring is the only reason why. That's Senpai's ring...

Evalines POV

My dress is pale green again, it's a minidress and the bottom of it is a pattern of black and white gems. My hair isn't half up, half down and my makeup is just some eyeliner and mascara.

I sigh and hop onto my bed, shrieking as a body is under me. It's the shadow boy. I fall to the floor, scrambling to stand.

"I assume you didn't like the present," he sneers. I spit at him. He just laughs. "Not much of a talker I presume," he chides. I just shrug. He rolls his eyes and sighs. "Just know that he's mine," he suddenly growls, the mood changing. The light around him gives him a black glow. I almost laugh at the fact he looks like a shadow. The princes shadow, always following him around.

He disappears from view and I wonder if he ever leaves the room. Not that I care. Clearing my throat I return to the bathroom and check myself in the mirror. I flatten the friz and open a cabinet. I grab some pale pink lipstick. It's almost a nude kind of color. When I finish there's a knock on the bathroom door. Two guards in white and red greet me. They lead me down the same hall going to the dining room. But his time we go right instead of left.

It opens to a chamber with large open windows and a giant chandler. Tables holding so much food it might fall line the sides, while waiters walk quickly around handing out wine. People crowd the room. Mostly Lords, but a few Masters and even some vivid green Nobles dot the room. I see the Prince and Surpreme at the far side of he room. The Surpreme wears his usual silver robes, and the only difference with Hedri is that his hair has dried, as well as the fact his green eye is the same blue as everyone else. I wonder why that is...

The guards lead me through the drunk dancing crowd to stand by Hedris side. As we walk I notice that the people from last nights dinner are present. When I reach the princes side, the guards disappear into the crowd and everyone looks at me. I'm glad for the ring around my middle finger, or else I would have been obliterated by the few Rockets that I'm sure are in the crowd. Able to blow things up with just a glance....

I take in a shaky branch and feel a hand grab my gloved one. I realize it's Hedri. The memory of this morning flashes through my head. He doesn't have powers. And why is that? I remember his emerald green eye. Is he a halfling? It'd make sense. Does his father know? Of course he does, who would have made the ring? I squeeze his hand lightly. An apology for this morning. He squeezes back.

It's fine...

I almost scream. That was his voice. In MY head.

Don't assume you know everything Dead-Girl...

Suddenly it makes sense. I stole his other ring. There must be another. I look at his hand. Jean wearing another ring. As well as a gold chain.

One gives him the looks.

The other gives him power.
