The infant in Queen Valdona's hands would not sieze on weeping, shedding a tear for every second while his carrier was abiding by her sister's request. It was going to be a challenging task escaping with a loud, unstoppable crying baby, considering that he is also one of the main goals to pursue and kill. If she was one of the soldiers and she happens to see their queen holding the child that was being searched for everywhere, the scene would be quite self-explanatory in her point of view.

But shaking out of that thought that made her stare blankly into space for a moment, she went back to reality. SHE was the queen, the one holding the targeted boy. She was the one who will be punished for turning to the other side. She was the one who will be whipped and tortured if ever she was seen with the wanted little boy. If she was seen, she is doomed.

What she would normally do was panic and be restless, but she looked at Christophe, who immediately stopped crying and smiled at the sight of her face. She smiled with a little dew of joy at the corner of eye when she realized that she could make an unstoppable weeping child smile by the mere sight of her appearance.

Queen Valdona then looked up and kept a stern face once more. The joyous smile of Christophe gave her the thought that she was a different queen. The queen that holds a sword and slays an assailant with extreme bravery instead of the queen that hides in a corner screaming and begging for help. She was royalty, but she is deadly...and cunning.

She figured that Christophe would come about soon enough, and with her thought, instincts, and tremendous coercion, she could sway anyone, even King Nicholas, with her words and keep them from harming Christophe for as long as he lived.

Yes, it would be just the thing to convince him. All she must do now us get the child out of the undersiege kingdom. Courage filled her once more and she sped forward.

All that's left is to get Christophe outside of the walls of Alorra.

The question is...how?

She was running. But she did not know what was next. Hopefully, she will figure it out as she progressed.

The forced hole in the wall of the town was not an option, but it was the only way out. The main gate was firmly locked and shut, and even if it wasn't, she couldn't push it open considering how huge the gate is.

No choice then. The wall it is.

She sped even more, but pulled back and hid behind a tree or many other things when any sign of existence appeared. It was not easy, but she managed to reach the hole unsuspected and unseen, and figured out a way to escape.

"Think. Think, Valdona. Christophe cannot stay here any longer." she thought. The chariot was not allowed, since she will be suspected if she uses it. But the horses gave her an idea.

She went into the woods and looked around to see if the coast was clear. She laid Christophe down on a stump and concentrated.

"Prepare now, little one. And do not be afraid."

Christophe looked at her in question.

"Hear my call! Come to me! IXION!"

Tremendous roars of thunder stormed the sky above them, and out from it came a loud neigh of a horse. It was obviously very large in size just from the sound it has made.

A bolt of lightning striked the ground 10 paces away from her and a magnificent, huge and powerful horse was formed from it, with strings of electricity still lingering around its body.

As the bolts of electricity calmed around his body, Ixion marched toward Queen Valdona, and stood proudly in front of her. She smiled at his excellence and power.

She pulled Ixion's head closer and stroked the side of his neck. She talked to him and gave him and order.

"Listen very carefully, Ixion. I need you to do me a great favor. It is very important, and there is no room for failure."

Ixion nodded.

"Take this boy, Christophe, and take him to the town of Salistre. Do you still remember that house by the cliff and how to get there."

Ixion looked at the child on the stump, back at Queen Valdona, then nodded.

"Go there and hide him from the soldiers of the kingdom. While on your journey, protect him as if your life depended on it. Should you run into some soldiers or the soldiers discover the hideout, I trust that your power is enough to rid them off of their misery."

Ixion was surrounded by light and his form was slowly changing. He changed into a humanly form, a man in a green leather dragonscale armor.

"But what about you, Valdona. I cannot leave you prancing about in that battlefield alone. If you get slain, I have failed gravely."

"I will be fine, Ixion. Do not mistake me just because of my figure and gender."

Ixion sighed. "Yes. I supppose you are right. But still, it would not harm you to take caution."

"I promise, Ixion. I will live to summon you again." Queen Valdona smiled. "Take care of yourself as well."

Ixion smiled back. He walked over to the boy and gave him to Queen Valdona.

"I will meet you at the hideout, Ixion. There, we will discuss what will happen next."

"Of course." Ixion agreed as his body was engulfed in light once more and changed back into a horse. Queen Valdona laid Christophe on Ixion's back and tied his carrier onto his saddle.

After farewells and last minute preparations, Ixion sped to Salistre as fast as his lightning.

"Fear not, Christophe. I will see you at Salistre." Queen Valdona said, as she turned and went back to the war occuring in Alorra.
