Chapter 8: A Terrible and Beautiful Phenomenon

Isaac gently closes the door behind him as Amelia and he walks out of Kaira's apartment. Amelia presses the button for the elevator to come, they both stand there in there in the uncomfortable silence. Amelia stood there looking down at her tiny bump forming, rubbing her hands over it. Isaac couldn't hold the questions that are blurring his mind and so blurted, "Why did you react so badly when Ira mentioned Kaira's father." Amelia eyes widened at the sudden outburst and hesitated to answer. 

"Um...um...Kaira never had a smooth relationship with her dad or even had one. He was an utter douche." Amelia says trying not to give any emotions away. Isaac not wanting to push his luck, just nods and leaves it alone. They both silently get into the elevator, a ride that meant to be a few seconds seemed liked hours in the complete silence. Isaac makes sure Amelia gets into her car safely, she forces a smile as he closes the door before going to his car.

Isaac's heart melted when he saw Ira cry, he too was a child of an owner of a company. He knew what it felt to be forgotten or to be isolated by his parents. His heart grew colder day by day as his father cruelty grew and to this day never stopped even behind prison bars. Where his father probably sat there proud of his crimes against Isaac's mother. The unfortunate day of his life where his mother sent to a mental asylum because of his own father's torturing and his abuse towards his mother just because of her ethnicity; same day his father sent to prison for attempted murder yet this did not free Isaac of this life. Still, this did not free his mother of nightmares and one obscure evening his mother committed suicide leaving Isaac to on his own at the mere age of 15, he lived with his uncle who taught him how to live. That he should not care for others unless it benefits him, not to care, not seem weak and never fall in love. Isaac took these rules with him to this day.

Once 18 he was pulled into his father's company that unsurprisingly in debt and bankruptcy. Isaac, since he was 18, focused his energy into work, turned into a workaholic. He worked his ass off to be where he is now, one of the feared Asian business tycoons in America. His reputation may be tarnished with pictures of different girls every other night but his stone heart did not care for other's opinions or those girls in fact. He is the King of New York and he will never need a Queen by his side.

Meanwhile, Enzo got a call from Lola saying Kaira still isn't in her office and it's been 1 hour. Enzo without thinking left his house and drove straight to Kaira's penthouse. He knew Kaira's is never late for anything unless something goes wrong. 

Enzo reaches her penthouse building, he rushes in immediately pushing every elevator buttons but all of them were going up. Getting frustrated he takes the stairs and sprints up those stairs like a piece of cake. Enzo was trained since he was a kid to run as fast as he could, to fight as strongly as he could and to use his brains as smartly as he could. Within 5 minutes he reaches the top floor where Kaira's penthouse resides. 

He sees the door slightly ajar, suspicious of this he softly opens the door, his face drains of colours. He sees Kaira in a position he has seen many times before. On the floor, hands drenched in blood. Enzo sees her grabbing a piece of glass, that's when he yanks her off the floor and starts screaming at her. 

"Kaira! What are you doing?" Kaira not looking up and fidgeting around trying to get out of Enzo's grasp. After a few attempts, Kaira finally freed herself before collapsing back onto the floor pointing at Ira's bedroom. "Ira," She faintly whispered, "She said I was like my father."
