[Six - Clyde]

The trees sway in every yard all the way down the block, back and forth, back and forth. It was like a rhythm; it was almost hypnotic. The wind swirled my breath into the cold breeze, lingering for a bit then just disappearing into the air. The snow fell at a faster pace than usual, which covered everything in a thick white blanket. There was something so comfortable about the color white; it seemed so pure and full of endless possibilities. Truly a beautiful color, but often overlooked. I always found comfort in the color white, never really knowing why.

"Hey, Clyde?" Lincoln asked, pushing on my side with his arm. I need to stop spacing out.

"Yeah?"

"I asked if you wanted any hot cocoa, we have some inside if you want." I nodded my head simply in response and faced forward as he retreated inside the house.

I was sitting on the front steps of Lincoln's house, watching the snow fall. For the past couple of days the snow had been stockpiling into a thick blanket that covered every surface imaginable. If the snow kept up, we would likely have a snow day, and I would have to be stuck at home watching my little sister. But when is that not basically every day?

I sighed, a thick cloud of mist swirling out of my mouth. It was cold, but I guess not an unbearable cold. Michigan sure has had colder days, but that's just what you expect from a northern state with a specialty in lake effect snow.

God, I hope Lincoln comes back soon. Even I can't stand how boring I am.

Basically no one was outside at this time, even though it was basically noon on a Saturday. Too cold, they say. From the porch steps of the Loud House, the entire neighborhood was put onto display. You could barely tell who's house belonged to who; every house seemed to be just a snow pile with barely any color peeking through occasionally. That seemed unnatural for this time of year, even if it was winter.

"Hey, turns out we didn't have marshmallows, is plain okay?" Lincoln questioned, startling me.

"Jesus, yes. Fine. Marshmallows are overrated anyways," I said, making grabbing motions at the cup like a child while he laughed. We've only been hanging out for a week and it seems like nothing has changed.

Ha, nothing.

We both sat in a strangely comfortable silence as we sipped from our mugs and watched the snow drift towards our feet. Lincoln's worn-out brown pair were definitely given to him from his father or one of his older siblings, which was obvious due to the creases and the rips at the seams. My black boots looked criminally opposite next to his, for my dads had just bought them for me yesterday. It was just like us; Lincoln standing out and Clyde trying to be like the rest.

Ugh.

It's like he has this whole approachable charm going for him; his killer smile and his lanky but strong form lures you in. It's weird to think about how it's basically like a trap. His looks lure you in, then what he's known for traps you. Then he automatically becomes "that cute boy I fucked last night". It almost makes me sick remembering all the people who never bothered to know him, they just wanted what they thought he come give. It really makes you wonder how the guy lives with what he's got.

I looked to my left over at Lincoln. His poor posture made him look about my height, although his long legs gave him away as they stretched down the entirety of the front steps. His boots were stained a darker brown in some spots due to the snow melting and soaking into the fabric. He had his usual black jeans hugging his legs and a gray overcoat captured his arms and torso loosely. His usual beanie hung over his head with white hair slipping out from underneath it.

His cheeks were flushed a heavy shade of pink from the cold, and his ears and the top of his nose were undeniably red. If it wasn't cold outside, it could be confused as blushing. I mean if cocoa and snowfall is your thing, go ahead.

"You want a picture, bro?" Lincoln said suddenly, looking at me from the corner of his eye, all the while smiling devilishly. My face burned from embarrassment, even though I tried to play it cool.

"Depends on the price," I smirked back as his face flushed. He obviously wasn't expecting anything back from me, and you could almost see the gears turning in his head.

"I don't know," Lincoln said, grabbing onto my chin and pulling my face closer to his. "What are you willing to pay?"

Our faces only inches apart, I could feel his hot breath combine with mine. I stared into his blue eyes that seemed to be screaming something at me. It's not like I can read eyes or some shit like that, they just seemed much more clear than they did weeks ago. What is going on inside your head, Lincoln Loud?

Just then, a snapping sound jolted us both back away from each other. Behind us was Lola, who was scrolling through her phone with a sheepish grin on her face.

"Well, Linky," Lola began, emphasizing the nickname he scowled at. "What do we have here?"

Well this was going to go on longer, but whenever I would write more it would turn out worse 🙃. So here's a small chapter, and I'm thinking this might be around the range of the chapters of when I start updating again(?). As you can tell, I have put this book on hold, because I don't have the inspiration or the time to write it with Robotics season.

I feel like nobody reads this but, idk. Thank you if you've put up with my bs to this point. I've tried to write this chapter like eight times, I need a break to recollect. (Even though I just took like two months off wh00ps) I'll try to get the next chapter out before or during Spring Break, but I can't make promises I can't keep. Give me ideas for chapters if you want, I don't care if you do.

Correct me with any mistakes

Thank you,
