As I approached my house, I turn and watch Kyle walk away, looking intently down at his phone. After a millisecond, my phone dings. Meet me in my backyard, I read. I shrug, and text back, It has to be quick, don't u have to get ready 4 the dance too?! As I send my message I lay my pack down at my porch steps, and Sprint to Kyle's house, hoping to lap up any time I might have. As I approach his housen, I notice many, older, kids are at his house. I try to hold in my uneasiness.

"Um- what's up," I say, almost too quickly. The older kids nod, and seem to peer at me with intent. Kyle beckons me to stay still.

"Oh- so Pike, meet Ty, or in other words-... my brother," he says.

I blink a few times, then let this new news sink in, okay so Kyle's brother, is the most popular kid in school. What!? This is really new.

"Hey," I say, a little to informally.

"Sup," he replies.

I smile. So this kid is going to help me get popular, nice. After intently listening to the whole plan, a few of Ty' s "henchmen" bring out two large banners, I glance at the bold lettering, it reads.

Go Pike, our new basketball Super star!

They show me, as if asking for my approval. I nod, and turn just in time to see Ty walking toward me. He looks at me as if pleading, for help.

"Pike please, I'm sincere, win. Please I've made a bet, if I my don't win, well.... my family," he falters, " will have to move." I back up in shock, no, then I glance at Kyle, his eyes flooding emotions. I nod

"I will! I swear!, " I say, hoping, clinging on to little coincidence that I can win. They both nod, having my word seems to have consoled them, for now. This game got a whole lot bigger, oh Lordy, I will win, I have to win now!
