Aldwin
—————————————————-

"What are you? And what in the seven gates of hell was that!?" I exclaimed, pointing at Hywel and staring at her worriedly.

She just draws circles onto Hywel's brow. I unsheathe my sword and point it at the soft part of her neck.

"Tell me, and don't you lie to me." I warn, trying to stop the shaking of my hands.

She turns her head slightly, her eyes on my sword with a mix of disgust and fear.

"I- I... don't know what this is. Now lower your weapon, if you please." She orders slowly, shaking her head and letting the tears fall onto the floor. She sniffles and her puffy red eyes widen as her she looks at her hands. I prop the tip of my sword under her chin and lift it to make her look at me.

"What did you do to him?" I snarl harshly and she closes her eyes as they flicker gold.

"He is essentially dead. His heart beat is normal and he is breathing, but he can't move." She answers simply. I press my sword a little closer into her neck and she opens her eyes, which are completely golden. The tip of my sword bends to make it awfully blunt.

"I said lower the weapon, Aldwin." She demands, her golden eyes narrowing.

"I don't know what this magic is or the extent of what I can do. But it bends to my will, like your sword. My mother is still controlling him, for leverage. We get your sister, we find my mother, we save Hywel. Agreed?" She half orders half requests, her eyes clearing.

Her mother?

"We? We get Deidre, then we're done. We never see each other again. Done." I state incredulously, dropping my sword and unsheathing my dagger from my boot and pointing it at her.

"Yes. Then we are done. Do you want to lose the dagger as well?" She enquires, visibly getting annoyed with me.

"What are you gonna do to the nurses?" I ask quietly, not taking my eyes off her.

"Make them forget. I don't know how though." She ends looking back to Hywel's face in her lap.

"This is madness, I'll just get Deidre and get the hells out of here. We're through. Got it?" I order trying not to picture Hywel's shuddering body as he screams and throws up that awful black.

"Got it." She obliges quietly, stroking the hair out of Hywel's face with sorry eyes.

I go to leave without a second glance at Hywel's lifeless body when she gasps, scrambling away from Hywel and breathing heavily behind the furtherest chair from him.

"Are you well? What's wrong?" I ask hesitantly, flicking my eyes between her and Hywel, who is still lying motionless.

He begins to convulse and twitch at irregular intervals, laying still one moment, shaking the next.

I edge away from him in case he jolts to life and goes for her like a crazed bear. I point my dagger from her to him as his eyelids flutter and he groans so deeply it sounds not human, like a thousand souls being crushed in hell.

His eyes flick open and look around, his gaze calm but intense.

"Liridia." He calls playfully, his voice bouncing off the library walls. A chill slithers up my spine as he smiles.

"Liridia. I feel your presence in the room. You've left it much too late, this poor child can't be saved. I can see what he can see, I can talk though his mouth and I can listen through his ears. He's mine now." He finishes venomously, his eyes observing the room, still laying flat on his back.
