*Lola's P.O.V.*

It's 6:45 and me and Lilly have been up all night. I'm shattered right now. Ella has still failed to come home and her phone is off. What if something has happened to her? There is no point in calling the police because she hasn't been gone for more than 24 hours yet so technically she isn't classed as 'a missing person' and she's over the age of 16 so she can do what she wants.

"Lola you better get ready for school. I'll stay here and wait for her to get home but if she turns up to school please make sure she comes home afterwards. I'll make you a coffee whilst you get ready, OK?" She says and I sigh at the thought of school. I'm too tired to function let alone be dealing with people.

I stagger up the stairs and walk past Ella's parents room to get to my room. Their room is tidy other than the bed which has James spread out across it. He got drunk again last night - he didn't even notice Ella was gone. The intoxicating smell of the alcohol makes me feel queasy and I run into my bedroom and slam the door. I don't care if I wake him up. He should have stayed up all night with us waiting and worrying about his daughter but instead he fell into a cycle of self pity and rage so he got drunk. This isn't fair on anyone. I know this isn't James' fault anymore because he is an addicted but he refuses to get help and he knows there are other ways to be dealing with his emotions other than lashing out on either Ella or Lilly and then getting wasted. I just hate seeing what it does to Ella though. Maybe that's why she didn't come home last night. Maybe she knew he would just get drunk and then angry or maybe she just didn't have the option to come home.

I get in the shower and quickly wash my hair. The water is way too hot and is burning my skin causing it to go a tomato red colour but I don't really care right now. Terrifying, disturbing thoughts spiral through my mind and I scrub at my skin as if it will erase them. By the time I get out I look as if I've been badly sun burnt. I quickly dry my self before throwing on my school uniform. I walk over to the dressing table and start to cake on concealer in hope that it will cover up my dark, sleep deprived eyes. I look a state. My uniform isn't properly ironed and my eyes still look as if I didn't get a moments sleep last night. I slide on my shoes and blazer before making my way downstairs.

"Lola there's someone here for you!" Lilly calls from the kitchen with her voice sounding croaky from lack of rest. I walk into the living room to find Luke, this time wearing his uniform, waiting for me. He gives me a hug to say hello but he hugs me too tight causing me to wince in pain because my body is still burning. Although, it was hot I didn't realize how hot it really was.

"Are you OK?" Luke asks me as he lets go. I nod my head before going into the kitchen to get my coffee to keep me awake. He follows behind me and Lilly leaves us to it. I hop up onto the side as I sip my drink. When I think about it I don't even like coffee I just tolerate it.

"Lola what's going on? Ella's mum seems really tired and, I'm sorry but, you do too." He says.

"Ella didn't come home last night and we have no idea where she is. She won't answer her phone either and we're just really worried about her." I tell him honestly. He looks at me with worry and concern painted all over his face. Normally, she would tell me everything and anything yet she hasn't even tried to get in contact.

"I'm sure she's fine. She's a big girl and Harry won't let anything happen to her." Luke reassures me. I drink the rest of my coffee before grabbing my lunch and throwing it into my bag. We better leave before James wakes up anyway. We say goodbye to Lilly before leaving to go to Mia's.

"Wait a second...Luke how did you know where we lived?" I ask. He's never been here before and I don't remember telling him.

"Niall told me. Anyway, what happened after you two left yesterday?" He asks elbowing me and winking causing me to smile. I know he's only trying to change the subject to get Ella off of my mind but I go along with it anyway.
