Murder no one knows when it will hit, till at last, it finds it's next helpless victim to follow it's strange and cruel orders. But as the last bullet had echoed through the plaza, I was left with the unsettling question: What could I have done? The town was often lonely and graduation was drawing ever so near. Why was I the one to feel the sin the psychopath embraced with cold hands? The following day felt the same as always, except the guilty stares everyone foretold upon me. I quietly ignored the nuisance and continued with my average day.
At the back of the school lay a bench where the shadow's of the many trees lay. Not popular and normal feeling, it was the perfect spot for misleading the new kids to frighten them as we told stories of the cults who often frolic here after dark. Today was unsettling as none my friends had shown at our spot for lunch.
"If your looking for your friends they have turned wicked and care no more. But I still do, no matter the tragedy that you witnessed." Salanie spoke creepily as always.
"Salanie get lost! I don't stoop as low as to turn to you for friendship or guidance." I replied out of spite.
She got close and reached to touch my face. I slapped her hand away. "What the hell is with everyone today! Is there something on my face or something!?" There it was. Our narrator is not qualified to tell the story properly. So we're changing perspective.
As the girl without a voice slapped my hand back she asked a question that answered my suspicion. She is completely oblivious to what happened that night at the plaza. And what is missing from her face.
"You fool how is it that you have forgotten the events of which brutally occurred between you and the two men? Heh... and of what circumstance does this make our souls align?" I inquired.
"What the actual hell are you on? 'Our souls align'. What nonsense." She responded.
As I stared at the ground a hesitation was seen from Fran. "Sheesh, I'm out of here." She stated.
I looked at her. She didn't look back. The wind shook the trees and the shade was still, and unlike everyone else in this world... I noticed.
