Solace

We rushed into the bedroom to get changed after we took our showers in turns. Thelma picked out a purple fitting dress with black pumps. Tina decided on a floral knee length dress with a pair of brown wedges. I on the other hand, just sat and waited for them to finish dressing. When they were finally done, they chose a blue flared dress with a pair of wedges. We decided to go natural instead of putting on makeup, since it was a party at night.
We left the house minutes later.

We soon got to the 'Midtown' club where most of the youth chose to spend their time and have fun on any Friday night. This place was really popular due to its location and its quality service from the workers. They worked for longer hours than any club would. I for one has never seen any club with as many workers as compared to 'Midtown'.
There were five bartenders at each of the opposite sides of the room. There was also a great number of waiters and waitresses considering it was a restaurant as well; although the restaurant was upstairs on the next floor of the three storey building.
Midtown was a place where you could meet every calibre of people 'from the streets'.

We made our way into the club. When we arrived at the entrance of the club, we were escorted inside by one of the guards.

Talk about good service.

Tina immediately found us seats and we got comfortable. One of the waitresses visited our table.

"Hi, welcome to Midtown restaurant and club. Here's our menu, when you're ready just ring this bell and I'll be back to take your order." The beautiful waitress smiled warmly at us before she left.

"Wow, there's really good service here. Do you guys know the owner?" I asked curiously.

"I think Augustina here might have an Idea." Thelma winked.

Thelma never called Tina by her full name unless something was up.

But what was it?

I turned to Tina with a confused look on my face hoping that she'll spill the beans.
She just feigned a smile and got back to looking at her menu.
I decided to ignore the whole situation and order something.
When we were all content with the various dishes we selected from the menu, Thelma rang the bell which was situated on the table. The waitress who was here earlier on approached our table.

"I'll have fresh salad." Thelma grinned.

"I prefer the seafood." I smiled warmly at the kind waitress.

"I'll just have the same thing as well." Tina said.

"Alright. And what drinks would you have?" She asked.

"I'll just get one from the bartender when I'm done." Thelma replied.

"I'll just have water, thank you." I placed my menu on the table.

Tina just stared into space without a word.

"Tee, whatcha havin'?" Thelma asked her.

"Um, sorry for that. I'm okay, thanks." She said after what seemed like ages.

The waitress just nodded and walked away. Thelma and I shared a look before we finally spoke.

"What's up?" We both asked her in accordance.

"Nothing, I'm just bored." She replied effortlessly.

"Are you sure that's it Tina?" I asked putting emphasis on the 'it'.

"Yeah, what else could it be?" She asked rhetorically before scrolling through her phone.

Soon, the food was ready and our waitress brought it to us. After a good meal, we just sat idle.
The DJ began to play music and Thelma pulled us both to the dance floor which had a lot of people who were dancing to the tunes.

"Ma, you know I can't dance." I yelled above the music blasting through the speakers.

"There's a first time for everything." She replied.

The two girls made their way to the centre of the dancefloor and danced their whole lives away. On the other hand, the introvert mess; me, walked back to my seat and sat quietly.
I wasn't really a fanatic of parties, neither was I ready to mingle with others.
Moma always says I'm different from my friends and that's because I'm always indoors.

"Hello miss." I heard a male voice say.

I raised my head to meet a well dressed guy who looked about my age. He held out a hand for me to shake.

"Hi." I shook it. "Please have a seat." I ushered him to sit.

"Thank you." He said as he sat across me.

"I'm Vance. You are?" He asked with a warm smile.

"Nice meeting you Vance, I'm Solace." I replied.

"Alright. I can see you're not a party animal like your friends over there." He chuckled, gesturing to Tina and Thelma busting out their moves on the dancefloor.

How did he know those were my friends?

"Oh no, I'm a different species all together." I smiled.

"So, can I know more about you Solace?" He asked.

"I'm seventeen. I live with both parents. My two Best friends are those vibrant girls over there. I'm very simple; almost too simple for others. I'm introvert and I cherish a lot of moral values." I said without stress.

"Oh that's great. Let me show you something." He stood and gestured for us to leave.

I silently got out of my seat and walked up to where he was standing. It was a nice quiet place away from the club even though it was in the same building. There was a beautiful view of the sky with all the stars shining bright.

"Wow, this is beautiful."I enjoyed the breeze.

"Yeah, and do you know what's more beautiful?" He smirked.

I didn't reply.

"You." He moved closer.

"I've been watching you from a distance Solace, and I've got my eye on you for a very long time." He moved closer; each step he made caused me to be tensed.

"Now today, when I finally have you, there's no escaping." I was finally up against the wall and he was just inches away from me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked with fear.

He stroked my cheek gently with his hand.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about." He smirked. Just after, he began to run his fingers up my arm.
I was stricken with fear the moment he touched me.

"Stop it or else I would scream." I threatened.

"Try screaming, no one would hear you." He chuckled evilly.
Even though I tried to deny the fact, he was right.
He placed his hands around my waist. I hit him countless times but it seemed my effort was in vain.
I tried to get out of his grip but I was defeated. He placed a soft kiss on my neck which caused a tear to slip from my eye. I shut my eyes to avoid eye contact with him.
I heard a punch being thrown but I didn't feel the impact. I opened my eyes and before me stood someone I never expected. It took me a while to digest what just happened. Vance was lying unconscious I presume, on the tiled floor.

"Alvin?!" I let out with confusion and fear.

"Hey baby." He smirked.
