Chapter 2

The rest of school dragged on like it usually did, I was lost deep in thought. Why did dad not tell me sooner about the vampires? Why was Ethan staring at me? Is he planning something against me?

After school Elisa came running towards me with fear and a hint of excitement in her eyes. "Luna! Ethan has been asking around for you!", Elisa exclaimed. "What? Why would he be doing that for? he knows who I am", I said confused. "He wanted to talk to you about everything, like the war between the species!", Elisa shouted, trying to calm down. A few people who were human looked at us with curiosity and confusion. "Will you keep your voice down! Do you want everyone to know about the packs?", I said quickly.

"You're right, I'm sorry", Elisa apologized. "It's ok", I said. "Here come Ethan, Luna!", Elisa said in shock. I spun around to look at the whose eyes were gazing into mine. "Hey, can I talk to you?", Ethan asked. "Um.... sure but it better be quick because I don't want to smell like you", I said. Ethan tried to look hurt but then smiled as we walked away to find some place to talk.

As we walked over to the picnic tables both us sat down and stated quiet, no one daring to break the silence. Ethan decided to break the silence,"I heard about what happened with Marco", he started "I don't know why he was here in the first place, but he needs to stay away from here, from you", he finished. His words caught me completely off guard.

"Why do you care if Marco is around me? I don't know why you would want to protect me in the first place", I snapped. Ethan started biting on his lip. "It's just that I don't like people to get hurt", he said finally. "Why would you care? you are a vampire, you drink human blood", I said not understanding the situation.

"I don't drink human blood! I drink animal blood!", he said practically yelling."oh my bad, I don't know much about vampires", I said sarcastically. "You know what, I'm leaving I said. As I got up and turned around to leave, Ethan grabbed my arm. "Please don't leave yet", he said. I could see the pleading in his eyes, so I decided to stay a bit longer.
