Jonghyun was part of the South Korean band SHINEE. He was one of my favorite singers—-his voice was very versatile and unique. Sadly, he passed away Monday afternoon. The once awesome solo and group singer was declared dead. Why?
"I'm broken from the inside. The depression that has slowly eaten away at me has finally consumed me, and I couldn't beat it." This was a note saying why he died, found by a very close friend of his.
He gave out clues of his struggles, through his music and interviews. For example, his newest solo song "Lonely" gave out hints of this as well as in another artist's song, IU's Gloomy Clock (otherwise known as Depression Clock).
It was sold to IU since she enjoyed the song so much. She and the fans had no idea that Jonghyun was going through this. But now that I look at it, his depression was very apparent.
The gloomy clock was ticking for him and yesterday, finally hit midnight. R.I.P. Jonghyun
