Day Care

"Wanna play house?" Lance asked

"No." Keith replied quickly.

"Okay, you can be the dad."

"But I don't wanna play."

"Fine, you can be the kid with Pidge. Hunk will be the dad."

"Wait I don't wanna be the kid!"

"Too late, Keith. You're the kid."

He crossed his arms.

Pidge patted Keith's shoulders. "It's okay... I like to mess with them by pretending to have tantrums..."

Keith blinked. "Yeah?"

Pidge grinned and nodded.

"Okay fine..." Keith decided. "I'll play."

Lance smiled. "Good! Now I'm the dad so I go to work."

"Wait. I thought Hunk was the dad?" Keith cocked his head to the side.

"We're both the dad," Hunk explained. "I'm the stay at home dad. I take care of the kids."

"Oh..." Keith wasnt Sure What any of this meant but he went along with it anyway.

Lance pretended to leave the play set then returned and sat down at the little table.

"Hello sweetie! How was work?" Hunk asked, in character while Keith watched.

"Tiring... how are the kids?"

"Oh they're little angels!"

Pidge winked at Keith then began to whine loudly. "I wanna pony! You said I could have a pony!"

Lance seemed confused. "What? No I didn't..."

"PONY!"

"Lance, Our child wants a pony..." Hunk said helpfully. "You promised to get our kid a pony."

"I DID NOT!"

"Pidge stop!" He tried to push Pidge away only for her to grab his leg. "POOOOONNNNYYYYYY!"

"THAT DOES IT! Keith is my favorite child!"

"LANCE!" Hunk looked offended. "How could you! Choosing one kid over the other!"

Pidge pretended to cry. "How could i not be your favorite?!"

Keith just sat dumbfounded as the train wreck unfolded before him.

"Keith, you're my favorite!"

"What..?" Keith asked. Pidge glanced back at him. Keith was certain that she wanted him to do something but he wasn't sure what. ".....pony..."

"What?" Lance asked.

"Pidge wants a pony..."

Lance sighed and stood up to leave the play set.

Hunk watched him. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going back to work..."

"What? Why?"

"I'm not ready to be a dad."

Pidge laughed.
