"Oh hi my name is selena, um selena stone" I said as I went to sit down in front of his desk.
"So what brings you here selena?" He said while making eye contact.
"Well I just moved here from out of state, and I really need the extra money so I can find somew- I mean so I can just get myself back on my feet I guess. And I'm a really hard worker and it would be an amazing start for me since I just got here and-" I was cut off by him giggling to himself looking down.
"No need to get ahead of yourself, you got the job" he looked up with a smile on his face,
"We need some more laughs around here anyways, you'll be behind the counter working with the milkshakes, here let me show you the basics" he said as we both got up and made our way to the front of the store behind the counter. As he was showing me how to work everything I couldn't help but notice how young he was and why he would have to be taking on so much responsibility. He looked my age, and I wasn't even 18 yet. It looked like the only workers in this small ice cream shop was Seth and his mom, maybe that's why they hired me on the spot.
"So you remember what I showed you okay?" He said while walking back to his little office in the back of the store.
"Yea, um got it" I said while mentally hitting myself in the head for not paying attention and drifting off in my thoughts. Ill figure it out it can't be that hard, ooo so maybe I just press this button and this one- POW- milk and cream just got blown up into my face, everywhere. And when I say everywhere I mean everywhere.
When I got back to my hotel room I started debating on where I could go because this hotel thing is way to expensive. I only have so much money from what cassie gave me. I decided on just sleeping on it tonight and go looking around the neighborhood for something anything I could find.
I woke up the next day not even remembering that I moved to California and almost shit myself when I saw myself in the mirror, forgetting the hair and contacts. But I dragged myself out of bed and went outside to go searching, since it was such a small neighborhood I doubt it would be hard to find anything available. After walking around for about an hour, I finally found this small brown worn down house, that definitely need some repairs but it had a for sale sign and number so I called. A nice old woman answered the phone just over joyed that I was interested.
"Now you know the house isn't in perfect condition but it has potential" she said confidently.
"How much are you asking for?" I asked.
"2000" she said while I realized it would be taking everything I had but I couldn't worry about that right now I just need some place safe. And not to mention it was a lot closer to work.
"I'll take it"
We met up the next day and I payed for everything and started moving my things into the house, which wasn't to bad besides I literally had no furniture. But until I figured it out, looks like sleeping with two blankets on the floor is my best bet.
Soon I figured out how to use the devils machine or aka the milkshake machine at work. I like to say it hates me but I think that would be an understatement. But after I got it under control this job wasnt that bad, including ill be getting paid this Friday. I make around 8 dollars an hour and work from 9am to 10pm, so I say ill have a decent paycheck. Hopefully.
