Hi. My name is Savannah rose and I'm 17 years old, and I'm on the run. Currently I'm hiding behind a black rusty dumpster in between two little stores trying to catch my breath before I try to run again. But before I get to ahead of myself I should start from the beginning.
It all started on a Saturday morning and the chirping of birds highlighted my ears as the smell of coffee filled the room, I turned around to see my mom dressed in her white button up blouse tucked in a skin tight black pencil skirt, with her black hair curled bouncing against her shoulders.
"Hey mama where are you going headed like that?" I said as I took a drink of my coffee.
"Well as a matter of fact I have a job interview, down at Riles highschool" my mom said looking more proud than ever.
"Thats great mom, just don't try to sleep with your boss this time" I said as she walked out the door laughing.
"I won't!" She yelled back at me as she got into her car. Me and my mom had such a comfortable relationship, being able to joke about the stupidest of things. It was always like that since I was little.
After my mom left I headed to the living room with my still steaming cup of coffee and sat down on our red leather couch. How I could never think of something more comfortable. I started scrolling through channels just looking for something good, but I couldn't find anything good so I stopped on the news. Nothing to exciting besides how we might get bombed by north Korea. Wasn't that just exhilarating. I decided to take out my phone and call my best friend cassie. She had blonde wavy hair that was about down to her waist, and these bright green eyes that were intimidating but at the same time beautiful. She had been my best friend since around 3rd grade, when I had wrote a note to my little 'crush' and instead of him finding it, the teacher found it and decided to read it in front of the whole class, and as I was crying she was the only one who didn't laugh at me. And ever since even through the ups and downs she's been my best friend.
"Cassssiiieeeeee I'm boredddd" I said as she finally picked up the phone.
"Savvaannnaahhhh want me to come over?" She said while mocking my voice.
"Pleaseeeee" I said in my cry baby voice which she knew to well.
"Fine I'll be over in five" she said as she hung up the phone.
And as expected five minutes went by and she walked in the door like it was her own house and came over and sat next to me while the news was still playing across the screen of my 45 inch tv that sits in the middle of the living room.
We started chatting away when she noticed that they were showing where a extreme car crash had happened, and I really didn't take it into consideration until she turned to me and said
"Isnt that your mom's car?" She looked at me with concern.
"Oh it can't be it's probably someone else" I said not really worrying about the situation.
"Savannah, look" she said pointing at the screen where they were identifying the deaths of the people in the car crash. And the last name to scroll across the screen was Rachel rose. My mother's name with her picture above it. My heart was pounding in my head as I couldn't hear anything around me. I started shaking just not even able to comprehend what I just read. Or saw. Cassie was sitting there shaking me trying to get my attention but I couldn't hear her. I couldn't see her. I was just there, wallowing in my own existence which I wish wasn't present at the time.
