"I'm Kai Summers."

I said quietly.

"Kai Summers? Really?" The male said with a surprised voice.

"Yes," I said. "I'm Kai Addison Summers."

I didn't know why he was so shocked upon hearing my name. I was wondering if the letter was fake after all.

"So, Ms. Summers when do plan on coming?" The guy asked.

"Whenever it's convenient for you," I said.

"Okay, how about after you're done with your school year?"

"That's fine..." I said my voice trailing of.

"Okay bye," the guy said. "I'm looking forward to seeing you Ms. Summers."

I put down the phone and I took a deep breath.

I was still confused and didn't know if I made the right choice or not.

The only thing that I wanted to do right now is sleep. At least when I'm sleeping I don't have to think about reality.

I went upstairs and right into my room. I plopped in my bed and just stayed still. I wanted to go to sleep but something was keeping me up.

CRASH! CRASH!

I heard a noise coming from the backyard. I got up and looked through my window it looked perfectly fine.

"What was that noise?"  I kept wondering.

I decided I might as well check my emails since I have over 1000 emails that are unread.

I looked through my emails and clicked on the most recent one. It was my test result for math test I took recently.

KAI SUMMERS
You have revived the 3rd highest grade amongst all the other test takers in the nation.
CONGRATULATIONS!

I was happy. After a while I finally had some good news. I mean I always get decent grades but it's not always I get grades as good as this.

I decided I should at least go and have a walk in the park since it's spring after all.

*****

I went to Gardenia park. It's my favorite park and it's the most popular park in Gardenia.

I'm happy it's not crowded here. It's always crowded and it's usually hard to breathe.

But, anyways the spring wind was so lively and cheerful I loved it. I wanted to enjoy every moment I had with nature.

After all I would be living in a virtual world  after I'm done with school.

I sat down on a bench and closed my eyes. The spring breeze - or wind was very relaxing to hear.

RING! RING!

My phone ringed and I picked it up.
"Hello?" I said. "Hey girl," said a familiar voice. "Hey boi," I said.

"Come to shop gurl," said the voice. "Why?" I asked. "Just come," said the voice.

"Fine," I said and I cut the call. I started walking to my friend Maya er - her mother's bakery.

When I finally arrived I went inside the bakery Maya's mom was baking and Maya was sitting on a table with her laptop.

"Hey Kaj!" She said. "Hey," I said.
I sat down on a chair next to her. I saw she was video chatting her older brother, Jace.

Jace was my best buddy since childhood and still is. "Hey gurl!" He said. "Hey boi!" I said.

Maya stared at us.

"Whatcha up to gurl?!" He said. "Whatcha up to boi?!" I said.

"Hey you two let's talk like normal people now," Maya said staring at me and Jace.

"Okay, it's just that its been a long time since I spoke to my best buddy," I said smiling.

"Well why did you call anyway?" Maya asked Jace.

"I wanted to catch up on things," Jace said. "What's going on in your life so far girl?"

"Well a lot," I said. Then I told them everything about the letter and the phone call.

Maya gasped. "You got accepted?!?" Maya asked shocked. "You're lying right?"

"No it's the truth," I said.

"Can't believe it," Jace said. "Getting accepted in that academy, not many people can get accepted. Great job."

Jace smiled at me.

"You'll still call me right?" Maya asked. "Yeah, why wouldn't I." I said.

I spent the rest of the day with Maya we had a sleepover. It was exactly what I needed so I could take a break from what's been going on in life recently.

"Pillow fight!" Maya said as she threw a pillow at me." I threw another pillow at her in revenge and she fell on her back.

"Hahahah..." I laughed.

"It's not funny you know," Maya said. "You wouldn't be laughing if this happened to you." Maya grumbled.

"Maybe not," I said smiling. "But, from my perspective it's funny."

I laughed again.

When we finally went to sleep it was at 2:00 am. Even then I couldn't sleep for some reason.

"Kai."

I heard a voice.

"Kai. Kai. Kai. Kai. Kai."

I heard many voices.
