Leaving the building to cut class or just school in general was always easy. Teachers nor students cared if someone left the building and didn't return into the next morning. Even the principal had been to wrapped up with "work" or his latest facility fling to even notice missing students from his school. A few students had even been outside already hanging out in the slowing rain smoking cigarettes and discussing plans for the weekend while leaning against their cars trying to look as cool as possible. No one had bothered to pay yourself and Jonathan as you both walked hand-in-hand to his car where he had parked it a good distance away from the front entrance.

His grip was tight though you were sure your own was tighter not wanting to let go of his hand for anything. Surely your knuckles were white by this point and surely his fingers were being crushed though he remained quiet and let you squeeze his hand as you tried to relax and feel calm again.

The light rain easily destroyed the progress on your hair from this morning as you didn't bother to pull up your hood or find a hat to protect it from the water and cold air. Jonathan let the rain soak his hair as well though he looked much better with his wet strands messy and stuck to his face in random places. Just the sight of his wet hair was enough to turn you on and give you a warm feeling that you had been feeling for a long time. Despite the growing feeling of something you had never felt before meeting Jonathan, you never made that important step with him. There had been moments late at night when he slept over that things became hot and heavy though you pulled away each time feeling a bit scared and unsure of the unknown. Thankfully, even after almost a year, Jonathan never pressured any act or became upset with things came to a sudden stop. But as you looked at the back of his head as he lead you to the car you wouldn't help but want to jump him right there in the parking lot not caring who saw.

Jonathan led you to the passengers side that had become extremely familiar always insisting on opening your door if he had the chance. You had asked him only one time why he insisted on doing these things even though you were capable of doing them yourself. The answer he gave involved his dead beat dad never caring for his mom and he swore to never end up like him. After that you never asked again and let Jonathan race around trying to do a simple task for you as long as it made him happy.

The sound of Jonathan closing his own door snapped you away from your thoughts bringing you back to reality.

"Are you sure you're feeling okay?" he asked turning in his seat just as he had started the car.

He was clearly concerned and growing suspicious possibly wanting to discuss how you were feeling though you wanted this day to be as romantic as possible without him worrying.

"I swear to you I'm fine." you replied slightly lying though you were honestly feeling a bit better. "I just really want to be with you."

Jonathan, seeming happy with your answer, smiled and turned toward the wheel pulling out of the crowded parking lot and onto the highway away from that place you were legally supposed to be.

"There's something I want to talk to you about." you spoke up as the school disappeared in the background.

"Sure. What's gong on?" he asked giving you as much attention as he could while still being safe behind the wheel of a car.

You sat there for a moment gathering the courage to say what had been on your mind for quite sometime already. You could feel your cheeks becoming a bit red and your heart begin to race not wanting to embarrass yourself or risk some kind of rejection.

"Well...I'm sorry I'm kind of embarrassed." you told him with a slight laugh that earned the same from him.

"It's alright. You know you can tell me anything." Jonathan replied as comforting as possible.

Taking one last deep breath you just came out and said it.

"I think...I believe it would be...beneficial...if maybe...." you took a short pause before finishing your sentence. "you picked up some condoms."

As serious as the relationship was and even though you loved him to the moon and back you silently prayed that a heart attack would come on and take you right then and there. You waited for Jonathan to laugh and think you were an idiot for being so nervous about that statement though from what you could see he seemed relaxed.

"Just so you know I already have condoms." he said in a lighthearted way that seemed to ease your embarrassment. "I wanted to be ready just in case you catch me by surprise when I spend the night."

You knew it wasn't solely Jonathan's responsibility to take care of protection but it was almost impossible to keep something like that in your bedroom. While you had no proof you were sure your mother snooped in your room while you were away and you weren't exactly sure how her or your father would react to a condom in a nightstand drawer.

"We don't have to use them now." he spoke again quickly before you had a chance to respond. "But I do have one in my wallet just in case."

"That's good to know." you simply said feeling a lot better knowing he was so relaxed and prepared.

"This conversation is much better than the one I had with my mom." he laughed lightly making you sit up straight in your seat.

"What conversation?" you asked him feeling a slight dread and embarrassment once again.

"My mom just wanted to make sure I was prepared and we were being safe." he said simply like it was no big deal now. "I told her nothing happened yet but she insisted on having...the talk...all over again."

Your eyes remained on the road in front of you as you processed what he had said. Even his mother had this on her mind enough to have a private conversation with him. Your own parents hadn't bothered to ask even how things were with the relationship. Maybe they just assumed a high school romance couldn't be THAT serious.

"Maybe you could spend the night tonight." you said so suddenly that it even caught you by surprise.

"Yeah. Sure I'd love to." he responded clearly being taken off guard as well.
