Cassandra's POV
"After you find the values of X and Y, you start to check if your solution and answers are correct. You do this by adding the variables X and Y equals..." The Mathematics teacher yapped on and on about the lesson, while I just sat on my seat, doodling in the back of my notebook.
"Okay, let's now have a little quiz so I can see if you all have been listening to my lesson." Professor Kim declared. "Open your books to page 370 and answer activity one."
We all did what he said and started the quiz finally.
"Psst, Cassy." I heard someone calling out to me quietly after five minutes.
I turned around and saw Jungkook scratching his nape nervously.
"What?" I whispered.
"How do you substitute the X in number seven?" He asked.
"Why don't you ask the teacher?" I furrowed my brows at his ridiculous question.
"Because I don't like talking to him. I hate talking to Math teachers." He hissed, shaking his head at me.
I rolled my eyes and wrote down the solution on how substitution works, along with the correct answer on a piece of paper then crumpled it a bit and threw it to the man-baby.
"Thanks." He winked and opened the piece of paper.
"Yeah," I mumbled, turning around.
However, Professor Kim's eyes were already glued to mine the second I turned around.
"Do you have anything to share with the entire class, Ms. Cassandra?" He slyly asked.
I gulped. "N..no, sir."
His eyes left mine to look at Jungkook. "What about you, Mr. Jeon?"
"Nothing, sir." He answered.
He walked over to Jungkook's seat and grabbed the crumpled paper from his hands.
"Nothing at all?" He smirked, waving the piece of paper in the air for the whole class to see.
I turned around and glared at Jungkook.
"What the hell?" I mouthed.
He shrugged and hung his head.
Mr. Kim glared at the two of us and walked back to his desk with the paper in his hand.
"Ms. Kim Cassandra and Mr. Jeon Jungkook, I will be seeing you two in the detention room after school."
My eyes widened at his declaration.
I've never been to detention before! How will I survive? If mom and dad find out, I will be a roasted pig once I get home.
"Ugh!" I groaned and slumped in my seat.
-----
"I'm calling your parents to let them know what you two did in my class this morning." Mr. Kim showed us his cellphone tauntingly and walked out of the room to call our parents.
"Isn't this great, Jungkook? We're in detention!" I sarcastically said.
He laughed, "Awe, come on. You'll survive."
I rolled my eyes at his reply. "I've never been to detention before."
"Well then, this is your first one." He winked and closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep.
"Great! Now what am I gonna do for the next two hours?" I mumbled to myself.
I know! I'll text Yoongi. He's probably out of his last class by now.
What's up, Yoongi? - Cassy
Nothing much. Already out of class and looking for you so we can go home together. - Yoongi
About that. I'm in the detention room - Cassy
What? Why? With who? - Yoongi
I kinda gave Jungkook the answer for number seven on our Math quiz this morning. - Cassy
So he's with you there in the detention room? - Yoongi
Yep. - Cassy
Aigoo. You're such a troublesome girl. - Yoongi
You can go home now. I'll be fine going home by myself. - Cassy
Shut up. I'm waiting for you, even if it takes hours. - Yoongi
Hahahahaha, thanks. I gotta go now, bye! - Cassy
Bye. - Yoongi
I switched off my cellphone and sighed, sitting quietly for the next two hours.
-----
"Why the hell did you give Jungkook the answer?" Yoongi started to interrogate me the minute I got out of the detention room.
We were already riding a cab towards our neighborhood.
"I was just being a good person! Plus, it's almost Christmas, so I have to be a good person so my Santa will give me presents." I whined.
Yoongi chuckled and ruffled my hair. "Childish girl."
I rolled my eyes again and playfully shoved his arm.
When we got out of the cab, I accidentally tripped when I stepped out and almost fell on the concrete ground. Thankfully, Yoongi caught my waist just in time.
"How are you this clumsy?" Yoongi asked tauntingly and helped me stand up.
"I'm born this way, Yoongi." I chuckled.
After a few minutes, I reached my doorstep and opened the door hesitantly.
"Mom? Dad?" I called out when I got inside.
"In the kitchen, Cassandra!" I heard my mom answer.
I walked over to the kitchen and saw them sitting on the dining chairs.
"We got a call from Mr. Kim that you were in detention with this Jeon Jungkook guy because you gave him an answer in your Math quiz." Mom started. "Is this true?"
I stayed silent and nodded my head.
"What were you thinking, Cassandra?!" Dad bellowed. "You've never been to detention before, and now you start to rebel against the road to your planned future? How unlikely of you!"
I hung my head and kept my mouth shut, not wanting to talk back to them.
Dad sighed and rubbed his face. "Go to your room. I'm not in the mood to talk about this right now."
"Araseo." I mumbled and then walked towards my room, locking myself in.
"That damned man-baby got me in trouble today." I groaned.
Jungkook is my friend, but he just got me in trouble today and I don't know if I can easily forgive him.
"Wait," I said to myself and sat down on my bed. "Is it my fault that I got in trouble or Jungkook's?"
I started to calculate if it was my fault or his that I got into detention today, and the only answer I got was a headache.
"Ugh!" I rubbed my temples. "What am I doing with my life?"
I really need to stick to Yoongi more often. Whenever I'm with him, it seems that I'm in less trouble...but in more clumsiness.
