Seongwoo couldn't shake his nervousness. He walked in circles, trying to figure out what to say. He pulled his hair in frustration. He felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Mwohae sunbaenim?"
"A-Ah.. Sejeong-a. Wa-wasseo?"
"Manhi gidaliji?"
"Aniya gwaenchanha. Gaja. I'll take you home."
Seongwoo took his second helmet out and put it in Sejeong's head. He strapped it in. He smiled and Sejeong smiled back. He put on his helmet and revved the engine. Sejeong got on. Seongwoo hesitated for a second, "Sejeong-a, before I take you home, do you mind if I take you somewhere first?"
Sejeong wrapped her arms around Seongwoo's belly, "Eung? Eodiga?"
He smiled playfully, "Pimilida!"

"Uwaaa! Yeppeune!" Yash! She loved it!
"It's suffocating lately. I think we need some get away drive."
"Geureoge..."
They enjoy the sunset in quiet. Sejeong closed her eyes, feeling the wind blow away her hair, tickling her neck. Seongwoo closed his eyes for a moment. He opened his left eye, peeking at Sejeong. And just like that, he froze.
The wind that blew
The ray of sunset that glowed
The serene she radiated
This eyes that loved what it sees
This heart that beat too fast
This hand that longed for herSejeong opened her eyes. Seongwoo was looking at her with those eyes. The eyes that soften whenever Sejeong smiles. "Gomawoyo, sunbaenim."
Seongwoo was forced back to reality, "M-m-mwoga?"
"For taking me here."
Seongwoo scratched the back of his neck. He swayed his body back while holding the railing. He looked down and exhaled. Okay, now is the time Ong Seongwoo! You have to tell her now. You can do this! Yeah, you can!!
"Sejeong-a."
"Eum?" Sejeong didn't hear him continue, so she turned. And he had this look in his eyes...
"You know we've been hanging out for quiet a while. We've been having so much fun. And after all that time I know you, I've grown feelings for you. I like you, Sejeong-a. Do you...want to go out with me?"
Seongwoo thought that confessing would relieve his burden, but it didn't. Waiting for her answer is waayyyy more burdensome. Sejeong turned to face the sunset. She was smiling but it was hard to tell the color of her cheeks. Ah this stupid sunset.
"Gaja, oppa!" She ran to his motorcycle.
"Ah Sejeong-a! Daedabhae!" He ran to her. Sejeong already put her helmet. Seongwoo lazily put on his. He revved the engine and... "Did you just...call me 'oppa'?"
"Ne, oppppa." Sejeong highlighted her words, sliding her arms to his tummy. "You better remember that today is our first day! Araji?!"
"Algeusseubnidaaa!"
5 November 2017 | Mr. Kim House | 18.00
Jaehwan just got back from his choir practice. He threw his bags on the sofa and crushed himself in. He closed his eyes for a few seconds when he smelled something mouthwatering...
His nose lead him to the dining room, "Eo, ahjumma."
"You're home, Sir."
"What is this all about? Are we throwing a party or something?"
"Ahgassi told me to make this. For Mr. Kim's birthday dinner."
"Oneuleun uri appaui saengilinga?"
"It's true."
"Ah, why do I always forget this kind of things?"
Jaehwan felt a vibration on her pocket, "Eum Sohye-ya."
"Oppa! Eodiga? Jibe wasseo?"
"Eum, jibe itda. Neoneun?"
"I'm heading back home. I just stopped by to buy appa's birthday cake."
"Yeah I forgot all about it."
"So typical." She giggled.
"Do you want me to pick you up?"
"Dwaesseo, oppa. I'm close."
"Arasseo. Take care okay?"
"Eum, itta bwa~"
Jaehwan hung up, "Ahjumma, I'm going to wash up. Tell Sohye to wait for me when she's home."
"Yes, doryeonnim."
Jaehwan headed to his room. Right when he's done, Sohye knocked. "Come in."
"Wah you actually showered. I'm amazed."
"What are you talking about?! I shower."
"Ne.. Ne.. Anyway!" Sohye sat on his bed, taking out the small box she's been hiding. "I bought this for appa." Jaehwan scratched his wet hair with a towel, while sat down next to her. "Ottae?"
Jaehwan kept looking at the grey tie. The design was simple. It has a thin, white diagonal stripes. Appa will love it so much. "It's nice. Appa will love it."
"Really? Oh thank God." She hit her tights and got up. "Now you dress up nicely and quickly come down okay?!"
"Okay okay. Wanjeon okay!" Sohye giggled at his hand gesture and left.
Jaehwan smile faded when Sohye closed his door. He felt like shit. He always forgot about this kind of things –not that he wanted it, but he just did– and Sohye has always been there to pick up his mess. After all those years of ill-treated life, she endured it and kept her smile to win appa's heart. Now that appa finally loved her, Jaehwan felt even more pathetic. Ever since Sohye came, she changed her father in so many ways, including his affectionate nature toward him that he rarely showed. He could never pulled what Sohye did to his father.
*At the dinner table, with cakes and everything, clapping to celebrate his father's birthday*
Appa looked happier.
Our family is happier.
Because of Sohye. That made Jaehwan want to protect his little sister so much. From the ugly truth of her dark past.
