Adrenaline courses my veins, fueling my legs as I run. Running from being caught. My breath and heartbeat are in sync. Here you get caught you die. That is the punishment for stealing. My lungs burn from the miles I have run from my enemies in cars. All for stealing a loaf of bread. Now an entire fleet of Market Control cases me thought Adentrine.

I quickly turn into an alley I know very well. I know most of the alleys in this city so well. I slung myself into the alley's walls between the shadows. Cop cars keep going straight. I pant, taking deep breaths quicker than usual. This helps me catch my breath a lot quicker. I don't move for a good ten minutes for all the Market Control cars pass by. But, a Market Control car pulls into the alley and I am forced to get to higher ground.
I need to do this fast and get back to Allen. I thought.
Talking to its walkie-talkies, the Nuglut (a type of alien), doesn't notice me climbing on to the fire escape on the side of the alley wall. Nuggets are very cautious about their surroundings but they have an excellent sense of hearing, but horrible eyesight. This means I'd have to be like those ancient mouses.
The alley was barely lit, so it would force the Nuglut to watch carefully and be more careful about how he does things. As it steps as if there were with traps on the floor, I quickly and swiftly climb up the fire escape using most of my upper body. I was getting too tired to go on but I was only five feet from the top of the building. Once I got up there I'd escaped.
Two more feet... One more foot! My hand came so close to reaching the top......
All of a sudden, my arms entirely gave out. My grip gave the metal an indent I was holding it so hard. Now falling, my body continuously hit the brilium metal. Making hundreds of bruises, bumps, and cuts all over my body. When I hit the ground, I landed on my back, knocking the wind out of me. Before you could snap your fingers the Nuglut was over me taking in his native language. I took in tiny breaths from the fall. I really screwed up this time...
