"Hello, my name is Calum." The tall boy with black hair says.
"I'm Finn Thomas McGee. 12 years old. I live at 1137 Boulder Road-" Finn says his typical greeting but I cut him off.
"Finn that's enough." I say.
"It's all good." Calum says smiling at me. "My middle name is Thomas too." He says too Finn who just stares at Calum blankly.
"See, he gets a buddy with the same middle name as him. Let me switch." One of the other boys with curly light brown hair says to the boy with black and red hair. "His name is Fletcher, my middle name is Fletcher, it's just how it should be."
"Shut up you two!" The tallest one with blonde hair says, clearly annoyed with this argument I'm assuming has happened many times before.
"Why don't we go somewhere away from the bickering trio over there?" Calum says with a smirk. "So who's your friend over here?" Calum says nodding over in my direction as we walk over to the playground. I don't know if he wanted me to introduce myself but I usually like to let Finn answer the questions directed at him, unless he says his catchphrase 'I don't wanna talk.'
"Logan." Finn says looking up at me.
"And who's Logan?" Calum says squatting down to be more at Finn's level.
"My big sister." Finn says.
"Ahh," Calum then goes to whisper something to Finn.
"Ok." Finn says nodding. "Calum thinks you-" Finn starts before Calum covers his mouth with his hand and I notice his cheeks start getting red.
"You have to be careful with what you say to Finn," I tell Calum. "He isn't very good at keeping secrets."
"Yeah I can tell." Calum says with a laugh.
"So would it be ok I just kind of hung around here for a while, my mom wants me to supervise and kind of give you a 'how to' guide on Finn." I say.
"Yeah of course, I wouldn't mind if you stayed the entire time." Calum says causing butterflies to form in my stomach. I wasn't gonna lie Calum was attractive, he had big brown eyes, and his arms looked really toned, and I could see a little bit of some tattoos on both of his collarbones poking out from his black tank top and another tattoo on his forearm.
"So what me and the guys over there were thinking is that since we all have 'little brothers' around the same age and the four of us are such good friends we should just all hang out together like every other week or something because it's good for these kids to have interactions with other kids their age too." Calum says gesturing over to the three boys back over by the entrance to the park.
"Ok, cool. So how often do you plan on hanging out with Finn, one-on-one you know? Cause it's really important for him to keep a consistent schedule." I say, starting to ramble a bit.
"Well I could come over to your house everyday sometime in the morning and then plan the rest of the day from there. Sound ok?" Calum asks with a hopeful look on his face.
"Yeah that sounds good."
"Why don't you give me your number so we can figure all the logistics out later?" He asks. Prefect, this gave me the chance to perform an act Finn and I have been working on.
"You could ask Finn, I've been teaching him my phone number in case he ever needs to reach me when no ones around." I give Finn a wink, hoping he remembers what to do.
"Ok then," Calum says. "Finn, what's Logan's cell phone number?"
Finn looks at me for reassurance. I give him a nod and then turns back to Calum.
