At 2:45 I finish getting dressed with a wrapped foot and padding surrounding it, A pink cut off hoodie made with silky fur. A white tank top under it with white furry sweats. As I walk out of my room I can see people getting directed to the basement of the house. I start to lean against the wall, feeling more confined by each second that passes. "Hey don't feel to stressed about it alright. I'll stand in the back with you, say I'm helping you with your crutches," Darron whispers handing me two crutches and that concerned look on his face. I shrug and get onto the crutches as he follows me down the staircase for chance of me falling face first. Why oh why did I basically kill my foot at the gym?
I look back at all of the people before we go into the very back corner of the room to sit down. He puts his arm around me and hugs me tight before his father, Alpha Derick, starts his ceremonial speech about all of the wolves that have passed away within the past ten years. "Over this last century we have had alot of our family, friends, pack members, work colleagues and mates leave us to join the wonderful goddess herself. People like Sandy Finnly, Ariel Chance, David Woles and his wonderful daughter Jemini. The most recent was just last year when two of our own young wolves got into an accident, the driver is still here today, in this room in fact. Roman Wells, they will all be missed," he pauses and my tears start to fall even harder. I watch Luna Willow talk to him with disgust or a punishing tone of sorts. Her head turns to me and she gives an apologetic smile. Darron's lips land on my head and I hug him back. All eyes go to us and stare, with some of the girls growling at me while some others are 'awing' at the scene. "Go on Alpha Derick. We had a meeting for a reason and I doubt it was this." He nods and continues.
"As some of you may already know, the prince has been killed by the traitors that have already been withheld or eradicated and the council is looking for his heir since before his brother vanished some time ago had a child of his own who was hidden from the thrown. They have decided to start down coast and haven't found anyone yet. We are the seventeenth pack to be tested out of the now fifty surviving ones left. So starting tomorrow we will be testing all of our adults then moving down to the teens considering that the lycan gene may skip generations. The tests start tomorrow at 7:35 A.M. and we expect at least most adults to be there. My wife and I have already been tested and we are finishing the pack house after everyone else. I hope you all show up, you are all dismissed." By this time I've stopped crying and Darron is basically pushing me to the stage to talk to his parents. "Deseray I'm sorry that my words hurt you. I didn't mean it like that," Alpha Derick apologizes kindly. "Fine, I'm just happy that it has been eleven years since my mom, I would of ran out if they both showed up. Besides, I had my rock with me," I chuckle and slap Darry in the chest lightly as he flexes. The Alpha and Luna give a rare laugh and that makes me and Darry start to crack up. At least I'll be one of the last tested.
