***Ali's POV***
I always knew I would live in California, it was where I knew I would grow up and have a job, maybe a kid...
I just graduated from College and got my degree as a graphic designer, I also just got my dream job at some big shot graphic design company. As much as I wanted to draw animals that talked and have my own T.V. show on Disney channel or something I knew it was unrealistic and stupid. I went with graphic design and minored in literature, I wrote but wasn't much good at it and barely passed the classes I was given. I went to SUVA (Southwest University of Visual Arts) and when I finally got out of that 4 year trap I moved myself to California.
California always felt at home to me, my mom and dad and I always went on summer vacation during my childhood and I loved every minute of it. The heat of growing up in Arizona was killing me and while yes, it was still hot here it felt cooler somehow. any change in the weather was a good one whenever I traveled. Plus the beach and sunny atmosphere of Cali always fit me better...
I have big round dark brown eyes and shoulder length dark brown curly hair. I am surprising enough though not tan, I am light. I am also very, very short. skinny and short didn't work to my disadvantage growing up though, because I was always called "Shorty" or "Elf".
After months of begging my parents to let me move before my college graduation they said yes. It was bad enough for them to let their daughter leave the nest for college but moving was worse to them. They then realized (or so they tell me) that it was my life. I could leave, drink, get a tattoo, even do drugs but it was my actions and later on my consequences. I agreed and set off for Cali.

"This is small!" My mother said it out loud to proof her point. My apartment was small and only held 1 room, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, a small living area, and a closet with the washing machines...
"I like it." I declared setting down the boxes I was carrying. All day we've been traveling and as it was just my mother and I, she saw my future home for the first time. I could tell she was oblivious and all day she had been making up excuses and lies to convince me to stay home. I wouldn't let her win so I lied too.
"I love it soooo much!" I cheered skipping in the small space and laying on the empty floor...
"Get up Ali!" She yelled
"Okay okay..."

After unpacking some boxes my mother left quickly as today she had to leave early to come with me and leave my little 12 year old brother Will alone with my father. Will was unplanned and as my parents grew older they spend less and less time with me to focus all their energy on Will before they went our like a light bulb for bed.
"Bye baby girl, I love you."
"I love you too mom, I always will"
She hugged and cried into me and kissed my cheek and forehead before fixing my bangs and getting in her mini van and waving good bye...
"Well what to do now..."
I unpacked things into my room while also listening to Imagine Dragons, full blast on loop on my IPod before I heard my stomach growl...
*Growl* *Growl*
I ate breakfast but with all my music and unpacking I finally saw the clock read 4:15pm...
I opened the fridge before realizing I had no food
"Well I should of done shopping beforehand"
I made a list of foods and such and got in my old 2004 Honda civic and drove over to the nearest super market.
I got out and quickly jumped on the front of a cart and pushed myself with one foot through the aisles not even bothering to say sorry to all the people who gave me dirty looks
"Fuck you all" I thought as I reached the salt and pepper, ect. aisle.
I looked around before my eyes landed on the salt. The last bottle was in the very back of the shelf.
"Fuck life" I thought as I tried to grab it. With no success I climbed the front of the cart again and put my shoes in the holes as I hauled my body to the top on my tippy toes. I almost had it when I then heard someone laugh...
I whipped my head to find the person who seemed to be laughing at my problem, but came back lost as I starred into the blue-green eyes of a handsome boy who made my heart leap and my feet shake. He was handsome...
"Woah" I thought looking into the everlasting color in his eyes
