The Next Day
***Ali's POV***
I woke up at 6:23AM feeling just as crappy as I did the day before.
I looked around my cluttered room, everything seemed sad, boring, drab.
I got some tears out but stayed somewhat quiet because I knew Violet was sleeping outside on my couch.
I walked over to my old record player. It was my dad's and he had the biggest collection of records I had ever seen. He kept it all hidden in the garage and it wasn't until I started painting back there that I noticed them. He opened the boxes and taught me how to use them but they stayed his. He had a million records filled with The Beatles music and I loved playing them when I painted. It wasn't until my college graduation that he put a big bow on the record player and handed me a stack of records, saying that I could keep them. Of course all of the records being The Beatles.

I looked through my shelf and picked one of the records up. The old vintage design art made me smile slightly. I put it in and stuck the needle on it before pressing play and turning the volume down until it was backround noise.
I walked over and picked up one of my sketch pads and grabbed a wooden #2 pencil before sitting down on my bed and sketching.
Sketching always seemed to calm me down, I wasn't really paying attention to what I was drawing and it wasn't until "Hey Jude" started playing that I looked down and saw that I was drawing Nate.
"Shit." I whispered. I guess I did a pretty good job drawing him because more tears fell after looking at the face for too long.
I ripped the page out and layed down thinking about the lyrics to the song:
"Nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah, hey Jude"
Damn Jude, This many "Nahs" for you to get the message straight?

About 19 "Nah, nahs" later I got up and turned off the player before making my way out the hall to the kitchen.
Violet snored slightly and I walked to the table were the bottle sat.
I snatched it up and went to the sink.
I turned on the garbage disposal and threw the remaining pills down the drain, the sound bringing me some kind of relieve.
I started crying tears of joy. The pills never worked, it was still hard, they didn't do shit. All they did was bring me more pain.
"What the fuck?"
I turned from the sink and found Violet staring at me with her eyes bogging out of their sockets.
She rushed over and turned the garbage disposal off and grabbed my hands making the empty pill bottle fall with a quick "thump".
She kept yelling at me but I couldn't hear her, I couldn't see her, black spots clouded my vision and I kept hearing a ringing in my ears.
"Fuck." Was all I managed to say before I fell to the floor and blacked out.

I woke up.
The first thing I heard was "Best Day Of My Life" by American Authors playing in the back round. I looked around and saw that I was in my room, the blinds were close and my light was turned off, the only light was the light coming from my hanging fairy lights on the ceiling.
I searched around and found my phone on my bed side. I saw that the time read 9:45AM.
I untucked myself from my trap of blankets and put my feet on the cold floor. I found some old socks and made my way outside.
The blinds were closed and sitting on the table, to my horror was a pill bottle.
I rushed over and looked it over. I read the name, directions and who they were for.
Anti-Depression pills
Take one to two when needed, take with or without food.
Ali Louise Williams
But I threw the others out...
I rushed to my room and looked in my trash. I reached down and found the crumpled piece of paper that held my drawing of Nate.
I rushed to my kitchen garbage can and found the old empty pill bottle.
I then went back to the new bottle and found a folded piece of paper next to it.
Ali,
I picked it up and read it, It was from Violet:
Ali, after you fell and blacked out, I found your phone and called your mom. She told me this has happened before and told me to just tuck you in. I put you in your room and played a CD on loop for you. I told your mom what happened and she told me that she hid an extra pill bottle in your vanity's closet tucked between some towels. I found it and layed it down for you. Take 2 pills and eat. I left for work and will call you later. Your mom said she would call you around noon. I also found Nate's number in your phone and deleted it for you. Just relax and watch some movie. I made you a sandwich and thats in the microwave. Take care, Love you XXX
Love, Violet

God, so my own mother knew this would happen and hid me another bottle without telling me. Now she was going to call soon and would beg me to come home. Great.
Plus, I lost Nate's number...
At least the sandwich was good.
