"I am not afraid of the storm for I am learning how to sail my ship"-Louisa May Alcott
Jasmine watched as the moon rose higher and higher in the sky. She could feel her bones breaking and rearranging themselves as she became the thing that had haunted her nightmares as a child. Her howl rang through the empty cell, vibrating off of the stone walls. It was a howl of anguish, one Remus answered with his own pain filled call.
Sirius collapsed into his bed as the sun was just starting to rise. It had been a long and very tiring night. Sirius had just about decided that he was becoming way too old for this shit. It was getting harder and harder to keep Remus contained on his own. He sighed in relief as his muscles relaxed, his thoughts slowly lulling him to sleep.
He was standing at the end of a long aisle, a minister behind him. He nervously messed with his tie, and anxiety filled him for a reason he couldn't place. A simple melody reached his ears as everyone in the audience rose and looked toward the end of the aisle. First came Jessica...James was on her arm. She was wearing a knee length gold dress that had red swirls flowing over the fabric, and James had on a red tie, gold swirls twisting their way up. Sirius almost laughed as he remembered what Jasmine had said when they picked out the ties and dresses. "Come on, Sirius, they need to match but they can't match." He had laughed then, and he still had no idea what that meant. The music continues as Remus and Lily were the next pair to walk down the aisle, looking as elegant as James and Jessica. They took their places--Jasmine and James as maid of honor and best man--Lily and Remus standing beside them. The music slowly changed, and as Jasmine languidly walked down the aisle, Sirius could swear his heart stopped as their eyes met. She looked so beautiful in her white dress. It was more fitted at the top, but flowed into a ballgown when it reached her waist. It was sleeveless, showing off her beautifully pale arms. Her father placed her hand in his before kissing her cheek. He whispered to Sirius, "Take care of her."
He took his seat as Jasmine turned to face Sirius. The ceremony flew by in a blur until it was time for Sirius to say the vows he had written. He took a calming breath before he spoke the truest words he had ever said. "Jasmine, I fell in love with you when we were eleven years old. You had just run through the barrier, and in your excitement, straight into me." Laughter filled the space before he continued, "Since that day, I knew you would be difficult to keep up with, and I was right. You were so energetic, so full of life. I knew that I had to do everything to keep you that way. I like to think I did a pretty good job at being your best friend. I comforted you when Liam Thomas broke your heart in our fourth year, I laughed with you after you pushed James into the lake, I laughed harder when he pulled in you as you tried to help him up.I held your hand as you stood up to James when he told you that you weren't allowed to date. I did all these things as your best friend, and I don't regret a minute of it.
However, I also don't regret the day I asked you out. I don't regret taking you to the Three Broomsticks for our first date. I don't regret holding you as you cried over your fear of losing James if we ever told him about us. I do regret not holding you back when you punched James square in the face after he told you that you deserve better than me. I regret every fight that we had, every night that you fell asleep crying alone in our room. But I do not regret our relationship. And I definitely do not regret proposing. Jasmine, I stand here today before our friends and family to declare my love for you. I stand here today to promise you that I will never leave you. I stand here today to promise you an eternity."
Jasmine had tears in her eyes as she looked up at him, "Sirius, from the day we met, I knew you'd be something special. You were always so confident, so sure of yourself. You could command an entire room's attention without trying too hard, you always had a way of speaking that made people desperate to listen to you. I didn't realize it at first, but when I fell in love with you I fell fast. We all know how stubborn I can be, but I promise to always let you protect me,"
Sirius felt an unidentifiable source of guilt as she said that
"I promise to always help you up when you fall, to always love you and to forever stand by your side. I stand next to you right now to show the world where my place is for the rest of eternity. I belong to you and you belong to me. Completely and fully. You own my soul and my heart, you own everything I am. A wise woman once told me that to love is to be owned. I didn't want to believe it then, I was so terrified of being treated like a possession, so terrified that if I let you own me than I would lose myself. You told me that you would never try to control me, that we were equals.
As much as I hate to say it, and trust me this is the last time you will hear it, you were right" laughter filled their ears once again, "I've never been happier to be wrong"
Everyone had tears in their eyes as the preacher spoke, "Now, by the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Sirius pulled her against him and kissed her deeply. This was not like the rough and hungry kisses they shared before sex, this was not a sweet peck meant to be quick and simple. No, this was a kiss that made you want to stop time, a kiss that left you breathless and craving more, a kiss that spoke of how deep your love for eachother is.
Sirius pulled away and looked into her eyes as he woke up
