[Crack]
The sound of pressure on a fallen tree limb echoes through these empty woods.
Unfortunately for the perpetrator who has stepped on a stick, this sudden sound catches the attention of The Beast.

Oh?
To whom do I owe the pleasure?
Tis not the stench of a deer nor rabbit.
A wandering soul perhaps?
Haha

The beast laughs, more of its own attempt to intimidate the one known as Shakespeare.

Jayden's pov

"Come on guys! This isn't funny!"

Why did I trust them?
Me and my friends compete to scare each other,
Guess it was my turn this time...

(Flashback)

"Hey dude, clear up that schedule!"
Jayden's friend since pre-k shouted in the voice of excitement.
"Why should I?"
"Come on man~" Whinned another.
Jayden thought for a second.

"Okay, fine."

Later that evening the three boys stood where the trees began into the woods.
"Wait..." Jayden pondered, " isn't this..."
Paul, Jayden's friend since pre-k, cleared his throat. Somthing he does when he is about to use his 'announcer' voice.
"Innntroducing~" he bellowed, " The home of The Beast, with only one thing on its mind.....MURDER."
Jayden laughed and punched his friend.
"Yeah right, but seriously, these woods are no joke. There have been too many...incidents."
The boys all looked a each other grinning, before trying to out run each other deep into the woods.

"Hey!"
Out of breath the other two boys turned to look at Paul.
"Lets play hide and seek!"
Jayden snickered, "Still not over pre-school, are we?"
Paul nodded.
"You start"

Why did I trust them?

[Brrriing]
My cellphone sounded.
Finally they call. I will pick up to their laughter.

"Hello."
"J-jayden.... Y..you"
"Why do you sound so scared dude? Aww afraid I'm gonna get mad? Don't worry sweetie~ I won't ask for a divorce."
"JAYDEN THIS ISN'T A JOKE!"
His sudden out burst caught Jayden off guard.
"YOU NEED TO LEAVE. NOW."
"What's with you? Oh~ I get it... This is another prank, isn't it? Well I'm not falling for it! Gotta admit though you almost had me there..."
Jayden wasn't too sure of himself.
Through the phone he could hear panicked breathing. His friend, hyperventilating in his ear.
"Look, I'm sorry we left you there. We didn't know---"
The sound of static made its appearance at the end.
"Know what? The incidents? That's all just made up! You know that!"
"THEY AREN'T MADE UP"
Jayden listened to his friend trying to calm down.
"M--missing cases"
"Paul you're starting to come in and out, missing cases? Those are the 'incidents'? H-how many"
"-47---"
The line cut off completely.

47

Jayden heard that correctly.
He stood still. Too deep in the woods to remember which direction he came from.

[Caw caw]

Jayden looked up in horror.
