I know they seem tedious
I know it sounds daft
But my fears are my fears
And there's no need to laugh
I know you're confused
And I know it's bizarre
But I panic a lot
Don't take it too far.
I know I seem strong
But what else can I say
These feelings are my feelings
And they're here to stay.
Don't make me feel belittled
Don't make me feel I'm dumb.
I know these tedious little things are hard for you to get
They sound ridiculous to you I bet.
But these are my tedious little things
I'll learn to control in time
So understand they're mine
They're me
I know they're in my mind.
I know you think you help by saying things like that
But know this now know this true
My mind contradicts you.
You can make a speech five thousand pages long
To say how good I am
How happy
And so strong
My mind says you're wrong.
It's in my head I know
But sometimes it does show.
But again I know they seem tedious
And you can't take them serious
But damn I wish you'd try
to see it all through my eyes.
