It was getting dark outside and you looked at your phone, checking the time. Your lover's plane could be landing any minute now. Minutes passed and no one - no one you knew, at least, passed though the gates. You decided to sit down on one of the chairs rather than standing and attempting to look over people. Besides, your feet were starting to hurt from having stood still for so long. You'd decided it was a good idea to arrive excessively early at the airport.
After about fifteen more minutes, you found yourself so have lost your ability to even pay attention to who was passing through anymore. You just sat there, staring without paying attention to anything in particular. It got so bad that you didn't even hear them say your name. Them. They had arrived and you weren't aware because you were so lost in thought. You saw something move in the corner in your eye and decided to ignore it, so many people were walking from one place to another that it might've just been another person waiting for someone to arrive. Eventually, you felt a hand on your shoulder and you jumped up out of surprise. You let out a quiet yelp before realizing who it was. A smile spread across your face, and the same happened to them.
They laughed as you wrapped your arms around them tightly, holding them close. "I've missed you, too." They whispered. It was promised - you two wouldn't spend the end of the year apart from each other. It happened last year and it was quite depressing. You were home, celebrating with your family but you couldn't be all jolly because you missed your other half, and your lover was touring through the country, unable to even have a proper phone call with you.
Eventually you two let go of each other and they leaned in, planting a short kiss on your lips. Your smile grew even wider if that was even possible, and you took his hand in yours.
The rest of the evening was spent ordering food, watching movies, discussing Christmas and New Year's plans and you two talked about the gigs they had. They talked about conversations they had with other people, flashing their gorgeous smile as they did.
"I'm glad you had a good time," you started and smiled. "That's what matters." You took another bite and finished your food before cuddling up to them, allowing the heat radiating from their body to warm you up. You hummer along to the background music in the movie and closed your eyes, enjoying the moment. You had missed this, you had missed being with the one you live, missed their laugh, their voice. Anything and everything about them. Including the small quirks.

A/N: so! First chapter is up. I know it's a bit short but consider it some type of introduction (though it's a really bad one). Please keep in mind, this is my first time doing this.
