Chapter 2:

... Ten years ago, Felming City...

Ten Years? Yes, it has been ten years since the Beast Hunters is formed. It began in Felming City, a city where rain never ends. It’s inside the vicinity of the Lamia Kingdom and is very well-known for its good relation to the Lamia Royal Bloods. In a small corner of this city, there lies a pretty silver headed girl, probably around the age of four or five. She’s covered with bruises and her cerulean blue eyes are as lifeless as a real dead person. Her breath is slow, cold and faint. She doesn’t even have the strength to move her head about; she’s a person who you can call ‘Half Dead’ and no one even turns to help her. Well, except for a little boy with elegant prince suit, probably around the age of seven and eight, very young for a title of the next successor of the Lamia King. He has his man servant beside him and six muscled Lamia at their back, standing firmly in their positions, being very attentive. The silver haired girl moves her pupils slowly to look at the elegant brown haired boy who turned to look at her. “Prince, please don’t get involved with this filthy girl. Let us go back, I’m sure your highness is waiting for you.” The brown haired prince’s man servant said “no, this girl needs first aid. Take her.” The prince said ordering one of his guards. One of the muscled Lamias quickly carried the silver haired girl with care “Prince, I will absolutely not let that girl come with us.” The man servant insisted “no, my orders are absolute.” The prince insisted back as he walked towards a carriage, and then the man servant and Lamia guards followed him. The prince entered the carriage together with his manservant, while the six guards are to remain outside as to protect the carriage that the prince is in...

Inside the carriage, the prince sat quickly and raised his right hand to his guard who’s holding the little girl as if telling him to let the girl in the carriage. “Prince, let them carry the girl, you don’t have to...” poor man servant, his master isn’t even listening to him, why would the prince listen to him anyway? The prince has his own way of taking cares of others and he knows very well that the silver haired girl needs a lot of care. The guard holding the girl put her inside the carriage beside the man servant. Quickly, the prince stood from his seat and switched with his man servant. He touched the girl’s cold cheeks and said “she’s extremely colder than ice. Normally, everyone could have been dead with this kind of body temperature.” As the man servant looked at the girl in amazement, he suddenly muttered “Mersnake.” “Did you say something, Elimos?” the prince turned to ask. Elimos Herz, he’s very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He knows every types of monster living in Dealacrima and he knows very well that the girl that the prince just took in is a Mersnake, a formidable enemy of the Lamia Kingdom that can only be seen in an island across two long seas from them. Elimos’ green cat-like eyes became fierce as he watches the prince wiping the dripping water from the girl’s skin.

After hours of traveling inside the carriage, the prince returned back to the Center of Lamia Kingdom where royal bloods resided. The prince quickly entered the palace together with his Elimos, his guards and the girl. The Lamia king noticed the girl and abruptly called for the prince’s man servant and Elimos responded with respect. The prince didn’t notice and followed the guard to their personal infirmary room.

   ... After six months...

Six months have passed and the little girl that the prince took good care of finally awakens for the first time after a very long time. The first thing she saw after waking up is the prince’s eyes looking at her happily. “Finally, I’ve been waiting for six straight months for you to wake up. How do you feel now?” the prince smiled. The girl couldn’t reply for she noticed that her hair grew long and beautiful, the last time she knew was it only extends down her shoulders but it seems like it grew all the way to her hips. “Ah, I have made the maids here take care of your body.” The prince said, he looked at the girl with a warm smile but the girl expression is a little... How should he put it? Dead... Yes, emotionless. That best describes her facial expression. “ahm. I’m Hal Daemonium. And you?” the little prince of Lamia Kingdom, Hal, reached out his hand to the girl. The girl’s nose suddenly twitched, she drew closer to Hal as she tries to sniff something. “What are you doing?” Hal asked curiously then the girl suddenly stopped and faced him “You... A Lamia?” the girl’s voice is cold with a purring accent as if she’s a talking cat “ah. Yes, I’m the prince of the Lamia Kingdom.” Hal agreed then the girl suddenly pushed him making him lay into the grounds “hey! What’s wrong?” Hal asked as he stands “Stop! Don’t get near me... You stink, you reek of blood.” The girl shouted angrily. Hal noticed that she’s trembling, even though her heavy bruises were all gone; her body is still extremely weak. “You... A blood sucking monster, A Lamia... Our enemy.” It wasn’t that clear for Hal to understand what she’s saying but he only knew one thing. “No one decides if were enemy or not, right?” the little girl clenched both her hands and gritted her perfectly small flat teeth “I don’t know what you’re talking about, but if it’s a monster type matter... It doesn’t decide if we are friends or foe.” Hal continued, then he noticed that the girl’s fair white skin suddenly turned to blue scales “I’m warning you, let me out of this place and I won’t open up the last stage of my Mersnake form.” The girl hissed “what are you talking about? You are absolutely free to get out of this place on your own accord.” Hal said “Don’t joke with me. I can smell sulfur all around this bed. The sulfur is infused with spell that binds any Mersnake. You and your kin did this, right?” the girl explained further “I don’t know what you’re talking about. What sulfur? And... What’s Mersnake?” the girl looked at this really uninformative prince and suddenly laughed “is it that funny to ask questions?” Hal asked “ahahaha! Are you joking with me? You’re a prince, right? You should be intelligent... Ahahaha!” the girl said with a much livelier voice “well... About that... I always run away from my tutor... You see, I really hate reading, make me sick.” Hal said “ahaha... You’re interesting... Alright, I’ll tell you my name. It’s Nickameledien Labyrinth.” The silver headed introduced “Nicka-what? I’ve decided: I’ll call you Nicka.” Nickameledien’s face flushed a bit. She looked away from Hal and folded her arms across her chest “don’t decide on that all by yourself.” She demanded “ahaha. Aren’t you tired? You should lie back down. I’ll call for the cook; he’ll deliver your food soon. I’m sure you’re hungry, you haven’t eaten anything for six months.” Hal said with a more energetic voice “wait... Are you leaving?” Nickameledien asked abruptly, her eyes grew sad as Hal looked at her. He smiled for a moment and left the room.
