Chapter 1

(Chloe)

The one thing I remember before waking up was when I had to move away from my mom, Luna, and my dad, King of the Angels. I suddenly bolt straight up in a cold sweat running down my back and neck. I get out of bed, walking over to my dresser and pick out an outfit that's made up of a pure white dress that fades to black on the very bottom. I pull out my white high-heel shoes and slip them on. Petting my cat Lucy, I wake up Mia.

"Mia wake up we have to get ready for school." I say as I pick out her outfit.

"What?" Mia asks tiredly.

"Come on we have to get ready for school." I say and start walking downstairs. Mia comes down to the kitchen in a black shirt, black jeans, and her black high heel boots. Storm, Mia's dog comes barreling down the stairs to get his breakfast of dog kibble. Making Mia and myself an egg with some toast for breakfast as I pour myself a small cup of black coffee. Finishing my breakfast I grab my backpack and run out to Mia's car. She walks out a couple seconds after me closing the door and locking it. Mia dashes over to her car and unlocks it and getting in. I hop in and Mia starts driving to our High School. Ten to twenty minutes later we are finally parked at school and are walking up to the school doors. I bump into a girl that I've never seen before.

"I'm so sorry!" I say as I help her pick up a book she dropped.

"What's your name? I'm Chloe and the girl over by the school doors is my sister Mia." I say and hand her the book.

"Thank you and I'm Elena Camael." Elena says and puts the book in her backpack. As I begin to ask Elena what her next class I hear someone shout my name.

"CHLOE!!!!" Maybelen yells, she walks up to me and I think I see flames in her eyes.

"How about you leave Elena, aka, my best friend, and go die in the flaming pit of hell." Maybelen growls and smiles sweetly at Elena.

"I'm ok, I'd rather get my high school education instead of getting knocked up like you." I retort back and walk up to the school. At lunch Elena, Mia and I sit together and eat our lunch and tell each other that we should go over to Mia and I house to study for a World History test. Maybelen walks over to our table and smiles down at everyone.

"Heard you and Elena are friends now, Chloe." Maybelen says and walks behind me.

"Yeah we are, what does it matter to you?" I say as I chew on a bite of apple.

"Nothing just wanted to know if it was true." Maybelen says with a smirk.

"Uh-huh. I know what you're up too, Maybelen." Mia says around a mouthful of food.

"Can you just leave me alone Maybelen?" I say as I continue to eat my lunch. Maybelen huffs and pulls out the chair from under me and I fall flat on my butt. I get up and push her onto the neighboring table. She lays there for a second staring up at the ceiling. I saw that she was stunned i guess almost to have a heart attack. She gets up off the table and lunges toward me. I lift my hands to block her out stretched hands from clawing out my throat. But in the process ice sicles shoot out from the palm of both my hands aiming for her legs. Before the ice impaled her she jumps out of the way and lands right on top of me. I felt her dry, rough, sand papery hands around my throat. For a split second i didn't know what to do. Then suddenly i felt it. Something stirred within for the very first time. My hands, legs, nails, nose, torso and all the rest of my body parts shrink or grow. My nails turn into dog nails as black as midnight, my teeth turn into sharp canines pearly white against the iridescent lights overhead. I feel fur grow everyone on me, the same color as my hair. Maybelen shrieks and jumps up onto the neighboring table looking down at me with fear in her eyes and on her face.
