Prolong

It's not okay to dream nanna would say to me.

"Hide yourself child, hide yourself deep and take care of your soul" she had held me tears in her eyes.

"If not I will lose you, you will lose yourself and you will become property...they will own you" she sobbed and held me tighter as if just having a tight grip on me could keep me away from the horror this world has become.

"That can't happen Quinn! do you hear me?! You are my granddaughter you belong to me and you belong to yourself" she pulled back from me and I could see a thousand worrys in her eyes.

As if they were burning stars. As if there were a thousand ways she could lose me. Her pale blue eyes were determined. "No more dreaming" she demanded.

I was three and I nodded.

I had no clue what she meant back then.

I didn't understand...

But I do now.

Dreaming is dangerous. it barely exists in the world. Therefore its a crime to posses it.

And If I continued to do it then I would lose my very soul... But not to dream. Not to think outside the box well, that wouldn't be living would it?

So my promise became dead weight and my secrets became endless.
