Zayn's POV
I'm going to Louis' this evening to hang out, and then tomorrow I'm going to take care of him. I'm actually pretty excited about it. Last time was full of surprises and confusion, but also a lot of fun. This time I want to be more prepared, so I bought myself a parenting book. I read through a bit of it earlier to have some idea of how to deal with a child. Of course, I don't know exactly how old Louis is going to be, so I read the section on babies and the one on toddlers just to be safe.
I packed my bag this morning, Gigi teasing me about how excited I was, so now all I have to grab the bag. I was still reading the book, so that's separate now, as is a jacket I grab just in case. It might be cold, I don't know.
Gigi comes to say goodbye as I'm about to leave, and we hug for a minute just inside the door. Pulling away after a while, I move to head outside.
"Bye babe."
"Wait, Zee. What's in your hand?" I look down to see that I'm still holding the parenting book. "Are you thinking about having kids already?"
I blush, laughing awkwardly. I'm really not ready for kids, and she knows it. I guess it probably looks weird. "No, m'not thinking about that yet. Just...goin' to visit Louis..."
"Are you helping him babysit Freddie? Aw, that would be adorable! Have fun, bye babe." She kisses me on the cheek and holds the door open for me. As I get into my car, I let out the breath I realized I had been holding. That awkward questioning turned out a whole lot less awkward than it could have, and I didn't even have to lie to her. Though I guess letting her believe something that isn't true isn't much better. Oh well. I can't exactly tell her what I'm actually doing with the parenting book. I stuff it in my bag before I drive off, feeling a little embarrassed to have been caught with it. Maybe I shouldn't let Louis see it in case he thinks I'm a bit too excited about this.
Arriving at Louis' place, he welcomes me with a smile and a hug.
"Hey mate! Glad ya made it! Come on in."
I bring my bag inside and put it in the guest room that I'll be staying in, then Louis gives me a tour of the house, pointing out particular ageplay objects in various places, like the bottle in the kitchen, changing supplies in his bathroom, and baby monitor and teddy bear by his bed.
Once I know where everything is, he leads me back to the living room, where a couple pizzas and beers are waiting for us. I'm impressed with how prepared he is, but then I remember how much I prepared for this. Maybe we were both really excited to see each other, in a planned way this time. No freaking out about unexpected slips.
We relax for a bit, chatting about random shit and catching up on each other's lives. When we're both getting somewhat tired, Louis changes the topic.
"We should talk about what tomorrow is going to look like. So you're prepared."
I laugh a little inside at that. He has no idea what I did to prepare myself for this. "Yeah, that's probably good. Don't want it to be like last time. I was pretty lost."
Louis chuckles. "No, we don't want that. So, I was thinking that we'd start right away in the morning, if that's alright?"
I nod, and he continues.
"Right, then, when you wake up, come up to my room. It would be best to start by getting me dressed. Nappy, and then something comfortable, your choice. The more you take charge, the easier it'll be for me to slip. Carry me downstairs for breakfast. I've got frozen pancakes that can be toasted, or cereal, or toast, or eggs. Whatever it is, give me plastic dishes and orange juice in a sippy cup. After breakfast, it doesn't matter what we do, really. Ideally cuddles or something if I'm not little yet. You could play me the song if you want it to go faster. You got all that?"
