Kasey and Jensen yelled the words of the songs over the radio as they made their way to Kasey's mother's house for her birthday. The two were madly in love and each other's best friend.
Kasey looked over at Jensen and thought about how much her life had been flipped around in such a short time. She gazed at the ring, moving it between her fingers, smiling the entire time. She was nervous to arrive at her mother's house, realizing that she would have to break the most recent news to everyone.
"Hey, whatcha thinking about over there?" Jensen asked, pulling Kasey out of her intense thoughts.
"Nothing," She replied, smiling back at him. "Just nervous."
"There is nothing to worry about, my love," Jensen reassured, taking her hand before placing a light kiss on the back of it.
It wasn't long before they were pulling into the driveway of Kasey's childhood home. They walked hand in hand to the doorstep. before Kasey could knock, the door was opened.
"My baby girl," Kasey's mom said as she embraced her in a hug.
"Hi, momma," Kasey replied, hugging her mother tightly.
After a few long seconds, Kasey's mother pulled away and embraced Jensen.
"So good to see you again," She said, patting him on the back.
"We are so glad we could make it." Jensen smiled. "Happy birthday,"
"Well, thank you, dear," Kasey's mother replied and finally invited the couple inside.
Kasey scanned the room at all the visitors her mother had invited.
"Kasey!" Someone yelled from the back of a huddled group.
"Oh my gosh!" Kasey exclaimed, realizing who it was. "I've missed you so much,"
Terin quickly wrapped Kasey in a hug, glad that her childhood friend was back home.
"Please, with Mr. Ackles here, I doubt you knew I still existed. " She said jokingly, and Kasey replied with a gentle shove.
"Speaking of Jensen, this is Terin," Kasey said, introducing the two.
"Nice to see you again," He said, remembering her from the convention.
"You too," Terin replied with a smile. "Treating my girl good, I assume?" She smirked.
"Always," Jensen nodded confidently.
"Actually," Kasey started. "We have some news,"
The room quickly fell silent, intrigued by what Kasey was going to say next. She held out her left hand, flashing the shiny diamond ring across the room.
"Oh my!" Kasey's mother exclaimed. "That's wonderful,"
"I'm so happy for you guys," Terin smiled, giving them both another quick hug. "You deserve it," She said to Kasey.
After receiving congratulations from everyone, soon the oven timer rang out throughout the house.
"Who's hungry?" Kasey's mom smiled.
Soon everyone filed into the kitchen, making their plates and taking a seat at the table. Kasey was overjoyed to be home, surrounded by her family and friends.
