We all piled into Brad's car and set off to the bowling alley. Tristan called shotgun so I sat in the back between Connor and James. Luckily there was only five of us so we could all fit into one car.
As we set off down the road, James turned to me. "So, how long have you known Brad?" he asked.
"only for a whole 24 hours!" I chuckled at my reply. James laughed a long with me before returning his attention to his phone.
I looked around at the others, Brad was obviously driving but everyone else was just engrossed on their phones. I hummed to myself quietly to keep myself occupied as I, being the clever person that I am, left my phone in Brad's basement.
Brad noticed that I obviously looked bored so while we were stopped at traffic lights, he turned up the radio and One For The Road by the Arctic Monkeys was playing - very fitting!
in a matter of seconds, we were both singing along very loudly, definitely confident with the words.
As the song came to an end, we pulled up in the car park of the bowling alley. Brad parked (very badly) and we all got out of the car and headed towards the complex.
"I didn't know you like the Arctic Monekys" Brad said to me as we trailed behind the others.
"There's a lot you don't know about me Simpson!" I retorted as I looked at him with a smug look on my face.
"Well then we might just have to change that sometime." Brad said quietly as he cheekily winked to me. I stared back at him as our eyes locked again. Was this considered flirting if we'd only just met?
"Come on slow coaches!" Tristan called from ahead. we looked over to them to see the boys stood by the entrance pretending to look impatient.
"Slow and steady wins the race!" Bead called back as we picked up our pace a bit, finally joining them by the reception.
We booked a lane and put on the disgusting bowling shoes before commencing the game. We all played against each other on one lane but so far James was winning and I was coming in close second.
"I will beat you Brad!" I declared as I stood up to have my next turn.
"Not by a long shot, no one ever beats Brad." Connor stated. All the boys nodded in agreement as Brad Just stood there looking smug.
I huffed at the boys' lack of faith in me as I turned and headed for our lane. I took in a deep breath before throwing the ball. I was in desperate need of a strike, I needed to beat Brad.
"STIKEEEEE!" I screamed as I ran back to the boys. The boys genuinely all looked shocked as we all took a look at the score board. I was now beating Brad and we only had one round left.
The boys all took there final turns. unfortunately, Connor had definitely lost with only 83 points whilst Tristan had 97 and James had 103. Brad had just taken his final turn and had ended the game with 119 points, I had 110 meaning that I now needed a strike in order to beat him.
I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes before releasing the ball out of my grip for the final time. I watched intently as nine pins rolled over down the gutter. one pin still remained but was wobbling a lot, it had to fall! I screamed motivation to the wobbling pin and after what seemed like forever, the anticipation was over, the pin fell! STRIKE!
"OH MY GOSH I WON!!" I cheered as I ran over to the boys who all engulfed me in a massive group hug. Brad just stood there, looking very ashamed that he had been beaten.
"What's the matter Bradley? Don't like being beaten huh?!" I mocked, wow I'm a bitch.
"Don't call me that, and I never normally lose!" he grumbled in response.
We all laughed at how immature he was being as Tristan came over and patted him on the back.
"Awww don't worry Braddy, there's always next time." He said in a baby voice as we began to exit the complex.
Just as we were about to leave, Brad suddenly stopped to read a notice board.
"Guys, why don't we all go to this funfair now?!" he suggested as he pointed to a poster on the board. James looked over at him and rolled his eyes.
"Just because you want to win all the games." he told him. Brad shrugged but we all decided it would be a good idea anyway so we got back into Brad's car and headed off to the funfair. My mum wouldn't mind, I couldn't tell her because I didn't have my phone with me but to be honest, she probably wasn't expecting me to come back anytime soon anyway.
