|Chapter 8| Opportunities

Third Person POV :

Sitting in form class, the atmosphere seemed quite hyped.

"Okay (A/N no pun intended), as you may found out recently, Retreat is happening after prom... I will be handing out your permission slips and what you'll need and while I'm doing that start to think about who your camp buddy is going to be... they must be of the same gender" Mr Kim explained. He went around handing two sheets of paper while the class chatted away. 

"Eeeeeee! Ramin! we get to be camp buddies!" Yoona squealed completely forgetting about her 'qoute 'boyfriend' *cough* aka 'friend with benefits' and her other friend, Minji. 

Not surprising that Mark and Jackson are buddies, Hyemi buddied up with Kwon Eunji leaving Jinyoung and Jaebum together. 

"*sigh* I guess it's you and me again nerd..." Jaebum smiled.

Jinyoung grinned as he rolled his eyes,

"I don't mind...."

After Mr Kim handed out the sheets of paper he went back to his desk with 5 minutes to spare to the first period (A/N *coughs*). 

"Im Jaebum may I see you for a bit? I need to speak with you."

Jinyoung looked at Jaebum with curious eyes. He just shrugged and got out his seat and walked over to the front of the class.

"Jaebum... it's nearly the end of the year and you know what that means..." 

Jaebum inhaled deeply,

"exams are coming up...."

"Yes... your past test's results have been looking quite poor and I'm worried that you might not graduate this year."

No words could come out of his mouth he nodded instead to what Mr Kim threw at him. 

"Although.... you do have a chance to redeem yourself... that's why I'm telling you this before exams start but if you want to slack off then be my guest."

"No I won't this time sir... I promise that I'll study and get out of this school... I'll try my hardest" Jaebum said sternly as he slammed his fist on Mr Kim's table. 

"That's the spirit! I believe in you Jaebum although I suggest getting some help along the way... makes things a bit easier,"

Mr Kim looked straight at Jinyoung who was quietly reading a book. 

"You may go back to your seat."

Jaebum returned to his seat thinking about life. 

"What did he say?" Jinyoung question while he put down his book.

"Just about exams coming up.... nothing special."

"Oh true...exams are coming up, do you want me to help you?" 

Jaebum smiled,

"It's okay... you need to study too and I'm sure that I can pull through."

---Another time Skip: End of Music Class---

The bell rang for lunch and so the students were dismissed except for Jaebum, Jinyoung, Jae and Sungjin. 

"Why are we here?" Jae asked Mrs Choi who was looking for something through her desk. 

"You four are here because you all have been chosen to perform at the upcoming prom."  

From the beginning of the day, posters were already up to advertised that prom was coming up soon and no one could stop talking about it, mainly the girls (Note that prom was only for the Senior years and Junior years) 

"Wait... Why us?" Jinyoung asked. 

"Well based on your past project you four stood out with your vocals and music.... I would like Sungjin and Jae to create a song, same with Jinyoung and Jaebum and at the end I would like a song with all of you together." Jinyoung and Jaebum looked at each other with surprised expressions. 

"Become a duo with him?" Jaebum asked pointing to Jinyoung who looked a bit offended. 

"Yes... Good news is that this is your final assessment unlike what the rest of the class is doing so you don't have to make another piece of music...  I would like your final piece to be presented to me next month before prom... so do you take the offer?" she beamed. 

The boys agreed to the opportunity and finally got to go to lunch.

"So who will you guys bring to prom this year?" Jae asked randomly. 

"Yoona again... just because she pestered me to" Jaebum replied.

Jinyoung rolled his eyes at Jaebum's ignorance, 

"Jinyoung?" Sungjin queried at him. 

He thought for a while until obviously saying, 

"Hyemi but just as friends." 

Sungjin's face dropped and he looked at the ground but no one really notice besides Jae who knows what's up... rip Sungjin...  

"How about you Jae?" Jaebum asked. 

Jae just shrugged his shoulders, 

"Idk... really... no girl has caught my interest yet..."

The four split their separate ways once they reached the entrance of the cafeteria. 

"Hey did we miss anything?" Jaebum questioned the group as he sat down with Jinyoung. 

"No not really but Yoona noona (P/N YOUR A FRENCH POET AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT!)  got in trouble because she didn't do her history homework which was literally 40% of her grade" BamBam explained. 

"Wow no wonder why she's so damn stupid" Jaebum and Jinyoung mumbled together. 

The group looked at them with horrified eyes, 

"d-did you j-just say s-something at t-the same t-time?" Jaehee stuttered. 

Jinyoung and Jaebum looked at each other and smirked. 

"What's with you guys? Two chapters ago you two were trying to kill each other and now you two are literally giving each other the cute stare!!" Jackson squealed slightly like a girl.

"Well things change Jackson-ah" Jaebum smirked. 

"Where were you two by the way?" Hyemi asked.

"We got an opportunity to create a song together for prom along with Jae and Sungjin" Jinyoung cooed. 

Youngjae's eyes lit up like as if he has seen paradise (M/N Punnn~), 

"Ooo~, have you decided what genre the song's gonna be?"

 I'm not even bothered to write down what happens next so let's just say that there was a lot of bickering between the two. 

"*Sigh* this friendship is going to be interesting..." Yugyeom stated.

I can't believe it's 2018 already. 2017 flew by so fast honestly... well for me.  Sorry that it took me a while to update, I wasn't in the mood to write/ edit honestly...  please don't kill me 😅 . Hopefully the next bit will come out tomorrow or the day after tomorrow but for now I hoped you enjoyed the story so far. Thank you for reading!
