Ashton's P.O.V

I walked in the house and immediately was washed over with the smell of brownies.

"Hello!!" I yelled.

"Hey kiddo. Where were you today? The school called and said you signed in, but never showed up to any of your classes"

"Oh well there was this girl..."

"Ooooo a girl. What's her name? Is she pretty?"

"Yeah she's pretty and her name is Spencer. You're in an awfully good mood today"

"Yeah. I decided that I needed to get out of this funk, so I went to see a therapist today"

"That's good"

"Yes it is. So tell me more about this Spencer girl. Do you like her?"

"There's really nothing to tell, besides the fact that she is my first friend here"

"Mhmm, I'm sure something will happen"

"Yeah sure dad" I said sarcastically.

"Okay well, the cookies are almost done"

"Okay I'm going to be upstairs" I said walking upstairs.

"Hey Ash. I heard you skipped school on your first day" my sister, Lauren, asked.

"Yeah so, does it really matter?"

"Not to me, but maybe you teachers will care. You'll be watched like a hawk"

"Oh whatever, I don't really care" I said walking away.

I walked into my room and noticed all the unpacked boxes all over. I hated unpacking so much because I'll unpack something and then change my mind on where I want it. Currently all I could think of was Spencer. I don't know if it was the fact that she was so strong or that she could still live in that house with her mum after what happened today.

I wish people would take the time to get to know Spencer. She's actually a really great person. I don't understand why people make fun of her. It's not right especially after what happened with her family.

I opened my laptop to see I had a new message from Luke asking if I wanted to Skype him and the boys tonight. I quickly replied yes and almost immediately received a call from him. I answered it.

"Hey guys!"

"ASHTONN!! We miss you bro,"

"Yeah, I miss you guys too. So, what's up?"

"Oh you know the usual"

"Michael skipping school, and you and Cal singing in the old auditorium"

"Yup, how's the new school? Any cute girls?"

"It's good I skipped my first day with this girl"

"Oooooo, what's her name?"

"Spencer"

"Sounds hot" Mikey replied.

"Shut up Michael. She's very pretty and strong"

"Strong, how so? Like physically, or mentally?"

"More mentally than physically"

"Did you kisssss her?" Mikey cheekily replied,

"Michael! I just met her. I don't want to kiss her and have it scare her off. She is my first friend here, and we already have a lot in common. I don't want to mess that up"

"Wow Ashton, you sound in loveee" Cal said.

"Shut up! I am not" I could feel my cheeks getting hot.
