Fuente Circle was buzzing with glee as the clock struck 12. People from around Cebu City gathered in one place to bid farewell to 2017 and welcome 2018 with a bang.
A spectacular fireworks display lit up the Cebu sky. The audience filled the place with 'oohs' and 'aahs'.
Cleo Smith had not been particularly excited for the new year. All she had in mind was that though it was a new year, things would still be the same. No changes at all.
Bored, she ran to her favorite bench which was surrounded by trees.
Suddenly, the music stopped and the crowd's cheer faded.
The sky was then brightly illuminated by a streak of light which would change Cleo's fate forever.
