Update written by: TwinziHasan
Hello my fellow Gems! How are you all doing today? I hope you all are doing great because I'm in the middle of a break down... Why? BECAUSE I HAVE FINALS!
*rips hair out*
Anyways, I'm sorry for the long break, Raneem was too lazy to write an update so here I am!
Your favorite twin XD
So sit back and relax because I will be telling you all about how it's like to have Arab cousins, and I'll be focusing on male cousins. And for all my Arab readers.... Oh I'm sure you'll all understand the pain.
You see all my non-Arab readers. Arab cousins are not your ordinary cousins. In fact there are two types. The I-Want-To-Marry-You cousin or the I'm-Your-Dad type of cousin.
Okay before you all freak out, let me explain.
In our culture, yes we can marry our cousins. It's not strange to us at all. But not everyone does it. My mom and dad are not related one bit, but my aunts did it. You might find it strange and trust me, I found it weird too especially since I came from America but I got used to the idea.
So the first type of cousin is the type where he wants to ask for your hand in marriage but you just Brother-Zoned him while the other type is the overprotective type of cousin who thinks he is your dad.
And unfortunately... ALL MY COUSINS ARE THAT TYPE.
Don't get me wrong. I'm glad I don't have any cousins who are asking for my hand in marriage *cough cough* okay maybe a couple....but I don't even want that to happen but having cousins who are like protective older brothers are a pain in the neck.
Now I only find these type of cousins when I visit Palestine and in Jordan because they were raised up differently than my Arab cousins who live in America such as Osama who Raneem talked about in her hacking update.
Osama isn't in any of the two. He's just a normal Arab cousin who just stays my silly cousin but my cousins who live in Palestine are soooooo different.
I literally like to call them my brothers because they like to act like it.
If you ask me,
"Hey, how many brothers do you have?"
I'll answer,
"Over 50."
One thing you should know is that when you're Arab, you have A LOT of cousins. I can't even count how many I have. They're too many. I especially interact with my cousins when I go to Palestine.
I have two specific cousins who are like the Devils in disguise. I'm not going to say their reals names so I'll just creat some simple nicknames for them.
I have a cousin who's my age but he's three months older than me and let's call him... Mr. Freckles because his face is filled with them.
And I have another cousin who's a year older than me and let's call him Religious-PlayBoy. I kid you not he's like one moment all religious, talking about God and praying while the other moment he'll be adding girls on Facebook and blocking them if they add him back.
I'm not kidding. That actually happened.
Anyways, moving on! These two cousins are the closest cousins I have. I actually love them so much no matter what happens but they are definitely the I'm-Your-Dad type. They like to boss me around and if they see a guy looking my way, they'll beat him up.
