We reached my apartment,
"Well if you need my help at all Jack, I'd be glad to help...Rick was like a father to me as well." I looked at her,
"Thanks Willow, I'll keep it in mind and...yeah I know." I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of the car and started walking towards my apartment building, I opened the door and headed towards the elevator and pushed the call button, the elevator started going down and the doors opened, I walked into the elevator and hit the third floor button. The doors started to close and the elevator started going up, after a couple of minutes the elevator stopped at my floor and the doors opened. I walked out of the elevator and started walking towards my apartment, I reached my apartment and noticed that my door was open a little bit, I pushed the door open and walked in. I heard my T.V. on and was on the sports channel, I walked into my living room and saw a man sitting on my couch, "Hello Thomas, how did you know where I lived?" Thomas got up out of the couch and walked up to me he smiled,
"Well you didn't really try to make it hidden and I kind of followed you after Willow picked you up." He looked around, "nice place you got here Jack." I nodded,
"Yeah it is, curiosity of the Chicago P.D." Thomas started to laugh,
"Didn't you kill Mike and he killed Johnathan and you got fired, because of the bailing out of Mike." I nodded,
"I actually finished Johnathan off, and well Mike had to die, he was a loose cannon, he was bound to ruin things for us anyways." Thomas nodded,
"Well Mike was the one that killed the father that wasn't supposed to be killed and got us all arrested, but thank god you didn't or we'd be fucked if you did." I nodded,
"Yeah thank god for me and why did it take you so long to get to me?" Thomas smiled,
"Well the trip from the prison I was locked up in was a long one but I also got somethings done for us in New York." I smiled and nodded,
"Good good." He sat back down on the couch and I sat down on the chair beside the couch,
"So what do you have do here in Chicago before you meet up with me in New York?" I looked at Thomas,
"Well I have to tie up some loose ends, deal with my father's death and finish up with the recruit that Stake has chosen." Thomas's eyes grew wide,
"Does that mean he's found the one that will give birth to the Lord of our world?" I nodded,
"That's what he thinks and I believe him." Thomas got up out of the couch,
"Well let's hope so because he's going to be the one to save us all." I nodded,
"Yes." At this moment the phone began to ring, I walked over to the phone and picked it up,
"Hello?"
"Hey Jack it's Laura, I was thinking maybe we could meet tomorrow for lunch?"
"Yeah sounds good Laura."
"Okay can't wait to see you." I hung the phone up,
"Who was that?"
"It was one of my loose ends." He started laughing,
"I see I see, well I'll see you in New York Jack." I nodded and he walked out of my apartment and closed the door. I turned the TV off and took my shoes off and my jacket and laid down on my couch and before I knew it I was asleep. I saw a black figure standing over me and I couldn't see anything except for a pair of red dots which were his eyes and he was smiling,
"Wakey wakey Jack." He moved away from me and sat down on the chair and I sat up,
"Hello Stake."
"Jack we need to advance things with Willow so the Lord can be reborn." I nodded,
"Yes I know I have a plan for Laura." He started laughing,
"Good, good." I wake up to my door being knocked I get up,
"One second!" I walked to my door, unlocked it and opened it,
"Hey Jack."
"Hey Willow, come in." Willow walked in and we walked into my living room, I sat down on the couch and she sat down on the chair,
"So Jack I want to talk to you about something that happened last night." I nodded,
"What happened?"
"Well after I dropped you off and went home, I noticed that there was a man in a hoodie, he was standing at the corner and it looked like he was holding something in his left hand, I immediately went into my apartment building and into my apartment, I locked my door and looked out of my window and saw the man looking up at my apartment and he slowly lifted what was in his hand... It was an axe and he pointed at me... I'm scared Jack... I'm scared that I'm going to die just... Just like your father." I got up and went over to her and wrapped my arms around her. She started to cry and put her head on my shoulder,
"It's okay Willow, I'm here for you... No one will hurt you as long as I'm around... I promise." She looked up at me and closed her eyes and we kissed each other, then the image of Laura's face popped in my head and I immediately pulled away from Willow,
"What's wrong Jack?" I looked at her,
"Nothing, I'm sorry Willow." She looked at me and gave me a smile,
"It's okay Jack, so about what we talked about last night... What do you say, are we partners?" She put her hand out and I looked at her,
"You know what I think we should because then we can figure out who that man is, because I think he's connected to my father's death, so I guess we're partners." I shook her hand, she smiled and nodded,
"Okay, I'm happy to help in anyway I can Jack."
"Where should we start... Partner?" She rubbed her chin,
"Maybe we should start by finding out if anyone reported seeing a man with an axe as I have."
"Good start partner." I got up and walked to my phone and picked it up and dialed the number for the front desk of the Chicago P.D., it started ringing,
"Hello Chicago P.D. how may I assist you?"
"Hey Laura, it's Jack, do you think you can help me out?"
Oh hi Jack certainly, what can I help you with?"
"Well I need to know if there's been any calls about a man with an axe and look as far back as a week before my father's death."
"I can certainly help you with that Jack, give me one second okay?"
"Sure take your time, how's everyone doing?"
"Pretty good but we're still dealing with the death, John's funeral is tomorrow, Marcus said that you could come, since he was your partner and your father's as well."
"I don't know, I might be to busy to come, working on my own investigation on my father's murder."
"Be careful Jack that's dangerous and I won't tell Marcus either."
"Don't worry about me Laura, I can handle myself and thanks Laura for that and did you get the information?"
"Yeah I do, it seems like this man with the axe is a pretty popular man, there has been fifty reports from five different people and they all live near each other... Do you want the addresses for them?"
"Yeah sure, why not."
"Okay... Do you have something to write on?" I pulled out my notepad out of the inside pocket of my jacket,
"Yeah I got my trusty notepad." I laughed,
"Okay, the fist one is 100 Sheffield Ave, 110 Sheffield Ave, 90 Sheffield, 2790 Kenmore Ave and 2798 Kenmore."
"Okay thanks Laura, have a good day."
"You too Jack." I hung up my phone,
"So this man with the axe is a local man, there have been five incidents before you, I have the addresses that these incidents happened at, so we'll start with those." Willow nodded,
"Okay sounds good partner." I put my shoes on and grabbed my and put it on and walked to the second bedroom, I took out a key from my breast pocket and unlocked the door and walked in, I shut the door and walked to a cabinet and used the second key on the same key ring and unlocked the cabinet and opened it and grabbed a 9mm Glock and grabbed some ammo for it and set it on the bed beside me on the left and grabbed the Desert Eagle and the ammo for it. I closed the cabinet and locked it and I grabbed two holsters and ammo belts, and I handed the 9mm Glock to Willow,
Here take this... It's for protection... Do you know how to use it?" Willow nodded,
"Yes... I used to go hunting with my father before he died." I handed her one of the holsters and ammo belts,
"Here, this will help you carry the gun and ammo."
"Thanks Jack." I took my jacket off and I put on my holster and ammo belt and put my gun in the holster and the ammo in the belt and I put my jacket back on and Willow gave Jack a seductive look and winked at him,
"No problem, Willow." He walked up to her and leaned in and they kissed. "Alright let's go." We got out of the bedroom and I locked the door and we walked out of my apartment and I locked my door. We walked to the elevator and I pressed the down button, the elevator started going down. It reached my floor and the doors opened and we walked in, I pressed the main floor button and the doors closed. The elevator started going down and after a couple of minutes the elevator reached the main floor, and the doors opened and we walked out and walked towards the exit. We walked out of the apartment building and we reached her car and we got in and buckled in our seatbelts, she looked at me,
"So where to first partner?"
"Let's go to 100 Sheffield Ave first." She nodded and turned her car on and started driving towards the destination,
"So these people saw that same man I did?" I nodded,
"Yes, that seems so, but the person at this address saw him before my father got murdered." Her eyes grew wide,
"This guy's been around before your father was murdered... That's not good, by the way I need to Cajan's Jack." I nodded,
"Yeah sure." We started going towards Cajan's Bar, after a couple of minutes we reached Cajan's, she parked the car in front of the bar and turned the car off and we got out and walked into the bar. In the bar standing behind the counter, washing some beer mugs was the owner of the bar, Mr. Cajan. He stopped washing the mugs and looked up at us,
"Hello Jack, hello Willow!" I waved at Mr. Cajan,
"Hey Mr. Cajan, preparing for the day?" He nodded,
"Yeah, what brings you guys in my bar this morning?" We walked up to the counter and sat on a stool,
"Well Mr. Cajan, I'm letting you know that I'm quitting, I'm helping Jack in his investigation." He nodded and smiled,
"That's okay not like you needed the job anyways." She nodded,
"Yes, thanks for being so understanding of the situation Mr. Cajan." He smiled,
"Yeah no problem and at least you're doing something honorable." Mr. Cajan looked at me, "so how's the investigation going? And sorry about John, he was a good man." I nodded,
"It's definitely coming along and yeah, he was a good detective too." Mr. Cajan went back to washing his mugs,
"Well I have to go back to getting ready, have a good day guys." We turned and walked out of the bar and got into Willow's car and we buckled up and she turned the car on and she started driving towards our destination. We arrived at the first address, 100 Sheffield and she turned her car off and we got out and walked towards the front door, and I knocked on the door and it slowly pushed open and I noticed that it was kicked in, we walked inside,
"Looks like either a break-in or a strange incident, I'm gonna go with the latter." Willow nodded,
"I agree, we should check upstairs, I got a hunch there's something up there." I nodded and we walked upstairs and noticed one of the bedroom doors open and walked towards the room and saw the body of the owner of the house hacked to death and blood splattered everywhere.
