You woke up to your mom shaking you. As you rose out of bed, she told you to get dressed and that she had a surprise. You lazily got out of bed and changed into your clothes as she left. As you walked out, your mother took you by the hand and ran to the dock that you had arrived on.
"But we didn't even have-" You started before you noticed a big shipping boat at the dock. It had been decorated and people were lined up outside. You noticed that it had flyers on it that said 'ALOLAN BOAT LIGHT-UP MASQUERADE' in all caps.
This was stupid.
That idea.
Is stupid.
But who cares, it's a party, right? Your mother twirled up to a person who was arguing with the person in front of the line. You followed your mom and listened in.
"Sorry, you need a ticket to enter. I've told you this 15 times."
"THIS SHOULDN'T BE A PARTY THAT YOU NEED A TICKET FOR!"
"Well, this party has gotten more popular over the years, ma'am."
The woman growled and stomped. "SHUT UP!!"
Your mom got in between the two and handing the man two tickets. The man stepped back and your mom dragged you inside. Then, she grabbed two masks and put one on you. Your mask resembled a cubone and her's resembled a sylveon. She walked off into the dance floor, leaving you alone. That's when you noticed that this party wasn't really a kid-friendly party... there was a bar and most of the people attending were young adults. You walk over to a corner and sit, leaving yourself alone with your thoughts. You felt the boat start to move. After a few hours, the boat was packed.
On it's final stop, only two people get on. The boat is pretty dark at this point, so you can only make out some silhouettes along with their masks. One of them was a boy with a weird looking hairstyle and a mask of a machop. The other was a girl with a weird hat and an eevee mask.
Suddenly, you're necklace turns red hot.
