You were just a typical high school student, or at least you thought you were. You would wake up every morning and go to your classes, albeit you hated school.
You weren't the best student, but you weren't the worst. You got A's, mostly C's, but you were still passing.
You rarely studied for tests, you would just wing reports and projects, and you would avoid other people.
Even though you didn't do much work, your teachers favorited you. Probably just because you were quiet and didn't disrespect them.
Your biology teacher said that you were quite refreshing.
Today would be just like any other day, but it wasn't.
You walked into your Algebra class and suddenly your mood changed, why? You had no idea...
...until it hit you.
Your teacher pulled you aside and spoke to you about your grades. You were failing his class. You didn't care, but he did.
That's why he assigned you a "study buddy". Your study buddy was Moon Bin, the biggest nerd in your school.
Straight A's, perfect attendence, number one honor roll student, voted most likely to be successful, and the only one who still wears Star Wars shirts to school.
Not that you minded his taste, you actually loved Star Wars. You even had a few shirts yourself.
Moon Bin was also the cutest boy in the whole school. Every girl wanted him, and every guy idolized him.
It was crazy to see his locker on Valentine's day.
Oh, and he was rich. Well, his family was.
To your surprise Moon Bin actually agreed to being your study buddy, he even smiled at you. You couldn't help but melt at his smile.
At the end of the day you met up with Moon Bin in the school's library.
You walked in a noticed him sitting down at a table reading. He was wearing his thick black glasses, a simple black and blue hoodie, a white undershirt, and some black ripped jeans.
You noted that he had changed. He had been in grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt earlier.
As you got closer you noticed the book cover and title, it was your favorite book; Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King.
You sat down across from the brown haired boy, "You like Mr. King?"
Moon Bin jumped, his glasses flying off his face. You giggled at his shocked expression.
"Sorry," You laughed, picking up his glasses, "I didn't mean to scare you."
"No, it's fine. I just didn't notice you were there.." Moon Bin chuckled nervously, accepting his glasses from you.
"So, are you enjoying it?" You asked.
"Pardon?"
"Mr. Mercedes, isn't it a great book?"
You swore you could see Moon Bin's eyes light up.
"It's a fantastic book. I love all of Stephen Kings' works. Especially Misery and Pet Sematary." Moon Bin closed the book and turned his full focus to you with a smile.
"Oooh yes! The movie for Misery scarred me as a child, but then I read the book and fell in love. IT was actually my first book, and movie."
"Really? My first book was Pet Sematary, my first movie was The Shining."
"The Shining creeped me out when I was younger but it didn't leave much of an impact as Mr. Mercedes did, I even own the book I love it so much."
Moon Bin let out a laugh so soft and smooth, it was like music to your ears.
