Sunday went by uneventful. We got to know Nate a bit better, he and Braydon got on real well. I don't have a problem with Nate... That I consciously know of. But I avoid eye contact and don't go out of my way to speak to him. It may be my shy side but who knows.
"Hanna! Oh Hanna, your carriage awaits you my dear!" Braydon called from down stairs. I groaned and slung my bag over my shoulder and made my way down stairs to go to school. I jumped in the back seat of the truck and put on my ear phones, (which look like ear muffs) and ignored Braydon and Nate who were in the front seats. They were also idiotically singing Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes out the window. I rolled my eyes and played my music louder.
When we got to the school I went to my first class and sat in my usual seat in the back. I wasn't the only one who went to class early. I mean there were some nerds who came early as well... But they were in the front rows talking about which Star Wars movie was better and cleaning the screen of their graphing calculators.
This school of mine, is very stereotypical.
The five minute warning bell rang and I took my ear phones off and put them around my neck turning my music slightly louder so I could still hear it but no one else could. I wasn't paying attention to the people coming into the class so I nearly fell out of my seat when someone started talking to me.
"Hey Hanna!" I let out a small yelp and saw it was Nate.
"Hi, Nate." I said relaxing slightly.
"Why're you sitting by yourself?" He asked. I knew he wasn't being rude and he was genuinley curious but I still took a slight offense to his words.
"I'm not very social." I told him honestly. He nodded his head and looked around the rest of the class room. I laughed.
"What?" He asked snapping his head back in my direction.
"You look like a hyper dog looking for something to do." Well that ruined his mood. He turned away from me and ignored me for the rest of class. Even though I could see he desperately needed help with some of the problems.
Sucks for him.
Nate wasn't in my next class but Jack was so I sat next to him like usual.
"I hate this class." Was his greeting to me.
"Glad we have a class we both love together!" Sarcasm was dripping from my words and he caught it and gave me a glare. I ruffled his hair. "C'mon Jack, just smile. Just once." He lifted his head up slightly and gave a smile that showed all his teeth, which totally wasn't a real smile but it made me laugh. He set his head back down on his desk with a content look on his face.
"You deserve to smile more than I do Hanna." I was glad that he had his eyes closed and he would have seen me blush.
The lesson went be unbelievably slow. Jack slept through it all so it made it worse. When the lunch bell rang everyone let out a sigh of relief. That lesson was hell. I looked down at Jack, and he was still sleeping. He could sleep through anything. "Jack," I said shacking his shoulder slightly, "lunch bell rang buddy. Time to get up." Of course he just sat there. I looked up and saw the teacher was out of the room. Even he hated his lesson. I sighed angrily. "Jack, wake your lazy ass up." He grunted in response. I hit his head with my back pack. He shot up right and glared at me. He gathered his stuff up and walked out of the room mumbling, "I'm eating with the boys." I sighed and went to my usual tree for lunch.
Where I sat by my self.
Forever alone.
I started reading when some loser tripped over my feet saying something about how I always got in the way. I ignored him. But he wouldn't back off.
